studying hard will pay you someday

September 13, 2009 12:31am CST
This is what I call GOOD KARMA. There are many students who are not taking school seriously because they don't like to look nerdy and enjoys the pleasures in life. But, I believe that there are more mouth watering and worthy pleasures in life when you study hard to do well on your chosen field. The pleasure such as being able to buy the food you like anytime you want, the pleasure of having your own shelter, the pleasure of being stable in life. So take your time to breathe and think of what I say. Studying is no waste of time. Here's an analogy: PTC: average of $0.01/click for starters ; STUDYING: GOOD PAYING JOB that'll pay you beyond minimum pay on wherever country you are :) Feel free to spill your thoughts :)

There was a time after high school that i thought of not going to college. I told myself and my parents that it's just a waste of time and money because i can already look for work. I envied my friends who didn't finish college yet already working and getting monthly salary. I stopped for a year and landed a job but not as good if you have a degree. The salary of course was leveled to my educational attainment which sucks and the work was too heavy. I got tired working for nothing and decided to go back to school a year later. I didn't make the wrong decision of going back because a month after college, i got a nice paying job. Now, I am currently working abroad and enjoying my stay here. I didn't want to further my study before, but just so you know---i am a teacher here in Thailand ..What a Contradiction?

That is right...Sometimes experience and failures can teach us better than any other people in the world. You just have to accept that failures are not meant to destroy us but to make us stronger and be the best we can be. We will never experience true happiness if we never experienced true sadness. We will never experience success if we never experienced failures. It always take two to tango and once you experienced both---you will know their difference. Have a nice day!

Very well said,:) I strongly agree on what you said. Have a nice day too:)

the advantage of going to school and graduate from there is the degree you earn. You may be qualified for a regular employment. But being employee will not give you wealth, it will not give you large amount of money. It only helps you to be a employee who are depending on your salary every pay day and some benefits and after that? none. I think it is depend on your motivation to survive in this world that will pay someday. I was a graduate student in college, but after graduation I don't have a job, It really hard to find a job, so much of a competition. this days some jobs do not require a college degree, undergraduates even highschool graduates have a place now to have jobs but on sales. It really depends on you if you will never stop looking for a job even if not with degree because there are jobs who does not require a degree.

I got your point. but isn't it that it's motivation that pushes a man to study hard? the motivation of being successful on their own perspective. thank you for leaving a comment :)

studying hard will pay you someday. if you study hard you will earn knowledge and if you earn knowledge you are a perfect suit to whatever work you wanted to apply to, so studying hard will really pay you someday, because of the salary that they would be paying you from the job that you got into.

yeah, :) studying hard will lead you to success. Success that depends on the each and everyone's own perspective :)

Of course studying is not a waste of time but there are other reasons too why some people are not taking it seriously. You study hard because you need stability in the future ahead of you but what if the chosen field you are engage in at the moment is not really what you want? I raise this question because not everyone is experiencing your so called GOOD KARMA. Studying does not guarantee you a good paying job but it can actually give you a big advantage in employment cause sometimes its the experience that counts

That's true! That's good way of putting it.

Points taken. But how would they experience good karma if they are not even on enjoying the path they're taking? If they're just forced on taking that track, well, it doesn't mean that they have to miss the opportunity of studying. They must look on the brighter side of life. And if they think that there is something better in store for them, then why not make a way of buying it? Maybe it wouldn't be as easy as 1 2 3, but it's worth a try. About your last statement, better to have a big advantage than none. :)

It is general to say that studying hard will pay you later on but not absolute to individuals. The process of "converting" your solid education background to real money in labour market is sophisticated and affacted by too many factors. Sometimes you may have to be lucky to find a good employer and it is the luck or timing that makes our life uncountable and colourful. Anyway studying is an enriching experience both in and off the class. So study is never too late and no waste of time.

I think people go to college right out of high school, or even high school students, are in school they don't appreciate the opportunity they have and don't realize how it will affect the rest of their lives so they don't take it seriously. I went to college the first time right out of high school. I was a smart high school student, but screwed around and didn't graduate very high in my class. I dropped out of college 6 months from graduation to raise my family. Now that I am older, and back in college for the second time, it is very important to me. I am on the Dean's list, I have a 3.85 gpa and I am determined to work my way through while working full-time and taking care of my family. I now appreciate what I am doing and know that I can still have fun while being a good student and it will benefit me when I am done a lot more than skipping class, turning in bad work or not turning it in at all.

there are times that something must be gone before you realize it's important. honestly, i feel the same way when i was HS and on the first yr of college, though im still trying to maintain my grades. I stopped school for two terms because my family and I planned to migrate to canada. We are disapproved for some reasons and I went back to school right away and noticed the sudden improvement on my grades. Seems like i really missed the loooong nights of studying :)

Education is the best source of our livelihood as what we achieve in life depends on what we studied & learned from school. So what life is what we make it! Education is our bread & butter no matter what status we have in a society whether we are rich or poor. What we have learned from school will lead us to a betterment of our life & success will follow. marilyn23

I agree. Education is truly the best source of livelihood. There's no shortcuts, but if there is.. well, shortcuts only last for a short time, isn't it?

I study myself and I'm into computers in a big way. However there are times when I'm studying that I become bogged down with it! I just have to take a break. I'm trying to maintain the belief that everything will turn out all right at some point, that my constant study is going to eventually open up some doors for me, this is my hope anyhow. I'm about to finish my course now and then I have to decide what I will study next. I think that whilst you are able to study then this should be taken seriously. Andrew

Review your interest and what you enjoy doing in life, and i think it'll help you decide on what you will study next. hopoing that it'll surely help. And congratulations for you are about to finish your course :)

yeah its right to study and finish your course is the big one for sure to have a stable job, happy life, enjoyable pleasures and many more. Many students out here and there are not taking seriously by just enjoying everyday life without knowing the time is running out. But in this world every person and every human living has its own goal in life. Others wants to be a simple person with a simple life, others also want a gorgeous life, while you ask yourself what goal you want. That is the question that everyone can answer by himself because that is what they or we want. There is always no one to blame for that but just to live a happy life. happy my lot guys....

that's right, studying hard will pay you someday. when you study hard, you get high grades, you get into a great college, you get a better job and you get a better salary. when you study hard, you will learn a lot of things and you will be better at a lot of things. you will possess many skills and you can earn from those capabilities. when you study hard, you will have a better road map for your life. you know what to do with your life and how you can accomplish your hopes and dreams. nothing will be impossible for you because you're used to working hard.

I would have to agree with you on that topic; however, studying doesn't always lead you to a good future. It also requires some common sense, streetsmart, good strategy and pure luck to be successful in life. :)

everything you cite works hand in hand to bo successful, but having good education is one of your aces. :) And from studying hard, there'll be good education :)

Studying is obviously the best way to reach a great paying job in the future. But it's a long journey and it's affect by way too many things. It doesn't depend totally on us, you know...some talents usually throw their lives away to waste, it's not an uncommon thing to happen. So I'm all for getting the best out of the opportunites that come out in life financially, because if you keep depending on your studied to secure your future, you'll be already too old and tired to enter the job market.

Yes. Studying hard really gives good karma. I am still in school though, I'm about to graduate. Seeing my good grades after much effort I put into studying makes me feel really good.. Besides self-fulfillment, I know I will benefit from the good work I've done.
13 Sep 09
Seeing your good grades+ having knowledge will definitely makes you feel good. :) That's why I don't understand those who are wasting their opportunity of studying while there are unfortunates who would love to go to school.

Kids nowadays are going to be in bad shape when they grow up. I can't believe that they don't put more focus and work into school because it shapes their whole future. A lot of them are going to just be getting the bad, annoying jobs that pay minimum wage. Either that, or they are going to get good jobs, but be so bad at them that they are almost immediately fired. I really hope that there are enough kids that still pay attention and realize the value of learning to run the world, because I'm scared that there are too many who will mess it up.

That's definitely the reason why I study hard. I know it'll all pay off in the end. But I still don't see the point in ONLY studying during your youth. If you don't take time out for yourself and just obsess over your studies, it isn't healthy either. The key is not to neglect your studies, but also live a well-rounded balanced life with social and sporting activities slotted in between the academics.
13 Sep 09
I agree. And time management will also do the trick of having a good time in your youth and at the same time, having a good standing at school :)

Definetly when you are in school and have a life you want to balance it. It's hared to have a life and study hard in school, but it is possible. Studying hard regarding what career you want to pursue requires just more than just studying; you have to have the passion and dedication for any intended career. It's not about the money seriously, its about what you will want to do for the rest of your life that will make you happy and fulfilled.
