Have it ever cross your mind to donate your Organs?

What would you leave behind when you make your last exit from this world? Have you ever thought that once we die our soul will depart from the body and our carcass will be buried and become food to the worms and only our names engraved in our tombstones become a reminder to our generations that we once existed in this planet. Transferring our organs upon death means we live on but in different house.
If we are in relatively good physical shape, regardless of age, we can donate our tissues and organs to help those who would otherwise not have the opportunity to live their lives to the fullest, or at all. Such selfless giving is a truly generous act, because we are giving the possibility of life to people who we do not know. It is up to you to reflect on and come to a decision about what you want to do with your body.
We can give back to the community in may ways - when you are alive and when you are dead. Think seriously about what the gift of life would mean to you, your child, parent, or sibling was in a situation where they are waiting for an organ that could save their lives or provide a quality of life they would otherwise never have. Each of us can consider contributing to the well-being of those we do not know in ways that can change their lives forever. You have the gift of life should you choose to use it.

Donating organs is a god thing. First of all thank u for creating this discussion.
I would think about donating organs when i see any accidents road side.
In India there a some superstitious beliefs in donating organs. Awareness among people must be created.

I filled out a donation card, many years ago, so i expect when i die, that my organs may help someone else.

I would definitely be willing to donate my organs that are functioning well if ever I die. I do not have any use for it anymore anyway so why not choose to help save other people's lives right? If I would have that chance to help someone live a few more years because of the organ that I have donated then it would be something that I would be happy to do. I can't really consider it a sacrifice since I gave them something that I no longer need. It may not really mean much to me but it sure would mean a lot to the one who will receive the organ.

I haven't planned or thought about that. I don't want to remove any part of my body because I believe that our body is sacred and it is the temple of our soul so why would I give it to others. I want to die with my complete organs. What I want to contribute or to donate is my blood. I believe that blood gives life and It should be shared. It also came from our body but it reproduce itself.

Hmm... I have never really given that much thought.
What you have started in this discussion leaves much food for thought.
I am sure there are options that I can take that will make my departure more meaningful than just like that *snaps fingers*.
Seriously, I have never given it much thought before. I guess it would be good to donate your organs, if they are still healthy when you pass on.
Hmm... *deep thoughts*

Yes I have actually. I thought it would be a noble thing to do. Why just let my organs rot when I die when I can help lots of people have a second chance in life. I have heard and seen many people suffer and wait for transplants and I told myself that I will make a difference in the future. Hope more people will consider donating their organs when they die too.

i have thought of that before. but i am not done that it yet to allow any of my body parts to be donated in case i met accident to some other people who could benefit from my body. thinking of that is not really appealing to me and i don't feel like making a waive on any paper to give any of my part for donation. but i may change my mind.

anyways, signing a paper saying that we are willing to donate our body organs will not make us die earlier. it is just in case that we met some unexpected accident as we can't tell about our life if until when we will live and what our future holds and so better sign that paper. i think i may sign that specially if my own family will be needing my body part. i remember one teen actor who accidentally slip from a tall building. his mother donated his eyes to a girl and now the blind girl can see clearly. it was really emotional for them to lose his child and still emotional to donate his eyes. it was shocking to hear this kind of news.

Hello my friend zandi458 Ji,
In fact you are instrumental for reminding our duty to fellow human beings after our departure taht still we could be useful to some in part or as a whole. Our younger son ha sdonated his eyes and my hubby , who was your friend as 'chintoo07' wants to donate complete body to some society. But i have always been reluctant. But it seems time has come when we both can do it, before it is too late. It is a noble idea and noble way of serving society.
May God bless You and have a great time.

Yes I have in fact on my driver's license I have donating organs if anything was to happen. I'm thinking though even if I die when I'm old of donating my body to science. It would be easier for the family less expensive. If not my body for sure my organs will be donated. Its just the right thing to do.

It depends on the condition of the organs of course.

I would love to be an organ donor without a question. You're gonna die anyway and not going to be able to take your organs with you into the afterlife...whether on astral, heaven/hell, whatever.
I love to be able to give to others and help others, and this is one of the ultimate ways to help a fellow human being.

I participate through the organ donation program on my drivers license. So if anything does happen then they can take whatever they can use. My family also is aware that I want to be an organ donor. I work in a dialysis center and every day I see people just trying to survive until an organ is available for them to be able to return back to their lives. Organ donation is a wonderful gift and the way i look at it, at that point, I'm done with them anyway.

Hello zandi,
The foot steps of the great souls, the principles of the great ones have enlightened and encouraged my life. They are still known after they are gone from this mortal world. But I have the least desire to be remembered by generation after generation but to steal away my little existence and enter into the fogy oblivion.
If there is any goodness in contributing our parts for some one to live some more years I am not sure but after my saying adieu to all if all organs are used by the needy ones I would have no problem. This, however does not pertain that I am still living in parts.
When the lively fountain meets delta its speed slows and turns grave and by th etime it merges with the sea it is too nonchalant if or not any one has added value to its being a part of the vast sea.

Hi raj, in gratitude of God's gift of life, we should share that gift with others. The art of sharing encompasses many areas. Emerson said it well: Rings and jewels are not gifts, but apologies of gifts. The only true gift is a portion of thyself. Our organs might be the only precious gift that we leave behind for others when we die.

Yes, I am 100% willing to donate any of my organs when I die. I actually planned it long before. I used to think that I am living a dull and senseless life so I won't allow myself to die in that way as I have lived it. That is when the thought of donating my organs came in. If I die, at least I will with a bit sense because I will be able to give the gift of life to those who are in need of it.

yes but my conditions will be for those who really needed it and the damage was not caused by any vice. and the proceeds will go to my family members and some of it to charity.
