Very soon we will have the mid autumn Moon Festival. The Moon Cakes are favorate food for most people, but for its over oily and sweat, some will have difficulty in digesting if taking too much.
Here are some suggestions. To go with the moon cakes, we can have tea, fruit, porridge, etc. Thus, we both enjoy the festival and the food.

oh zhuhuifen46, I am now busy baking mooncake to meet my customers order, and this has since happening a month ago..
In Malaysia, we eat mooncake with chinese tea and pomelo being the reason that mooncake are sweet and bit oily, therefore, it will be best to wash down with Chinese tea.. and since it's sweet, having some pomelo will be a good combination too..
this will be the way we enjoyed mooncake at home..in addition, we even have a table outside the house, under the moon, and have some other stuff, like peanuts, yam and etc.. shall look forward for this celebration on 3rd October 2009

Iriene, my mum has been baking for years and we normally give to relative, as this would save a lot since we used to have a whole bunch to be given.
reason that we normally bake our own is also we just like to have home made mooncake in order to make sure we use pure ingredient and no mixture..
I just learned from a doctor, actually mooncake is very good, as we are eating lots of lotus seed in it, and it's good for our body too.. :D

I love moon cakes! I miss eating it. :( I remember when my former boss who is chinese gave me a box of moon cake from Hong Kong. It was my first time to have that yummy piece of cake and it became my favorite. I'm so curious about it the first time i got a box of it and ate every variant I found in that box. I enjoyed every bite! It was best pair with a cup of tea, mint tea is my choice of tea. I wish I will have some of it again this coming moon festival! :)

It is so nice that you like the mooncakes. Nowadays, the mooncakes are made with less oil and sugar, so that more healthy. But they are also more expensive for fancy packaging. Thanks for your responding.

Moon cake is very delicious and traditonal snack for Chinese people. However many people worry about the sugar so better not to eat too much.
For the mid Autumn Monn festival if you want to try Moon cakes you also can have it with cafe. Maybe you can find a special experience compared to tea.
I like moon cake but I just can eat it once per year. Just for the festival. If the producer can make more varities of Moon cake maybe people can eat it in other festivals or their daily life.

Nothing else can bring me happy except the 8 days leave. I don't like moon cakes because I've heard those moom cakes were made from biscuit dregs.

Hello Zhuhuifen,
Yeah, mooncke festival is just around the corner. I like moon cake too. But I could not eat too much. But I like to try many kids of mooncake in the market. There are some of my favorite like lotus egg yolk, green tea mooncake, black sesame moon cake and pandan lotus moon cake. I yet to try Haggen Daaz ice cream moon cake . It is so expensive.
I have some moon cake last night. We played some lantern with the kids too. They are so happy and ran around with the lantern.
Moon cake is quite nice but still I don't let my kids to eat too much. I think moon cake is best go with Chinese tea.

Dear zhuhuifen,
Thinking about mooncake make me happy :)
Children will be gathering with their lighted up
colourful and beautiful shapes of lanterns and walk
around the park. I love to eat lotus seed moon cake
with egg yolk! yummy but costly
A mooncake may price from RM5 - RM15 depends on it ingredients.
Many hotels and Chinese Restaurants will have their mooncake on
Sale at the Mall. At times they have samples for us to try!
I normally drink Chinese tea when I eat mooncake.
When is the actual date of Mooncake festival...is it beginning of October?
Thanks and do keep in touch!
