This topic suddenly come to my mind when I was having my bath this afternoon. Let's start to share on how often you shampoo/wash your hair? I have to shampoo/wash my hair everyday. I will feel uneasy if one day never wash my hair unless I am sick/not feeling well(no choice). My head just feel light after being washing and I will also blow dry my hair if I have some free hair.Every 2 weeks, I will do my own hair treatment at home, that's help to keep my hair grow healthier and looks soft. Welcome everybody responses, please share with me what kind of shampoo you are using and how often you do a hair treament? Thank you.

shia88, me too! I can't sleep without washing my hair everyday.. I will wash my hair early in the morning, before I go to work.. and now, I change the strategy, and wash my hair at night instead coz I have expose to all the cooking, cleaning and sweating, so by washing my hair at night, at least it keep me clean and fresh.. well, even I heard those sayings that it's not good to wash our hair at night, and we get the 'wind' but I just can't stand my hair being sticky and sleeping on my pillows with it.. so, each time after my wash, I will towel dry it and wrap it up before I let the hair expose..

Hello Cwong, It is really not so good to wash hair at night. My mom says you don't get anything now, but you will get sickness when you are old. Believe it or not but try to avoid is the best. I also wash my hair at night, LOL. But I think I am using water heater shouldn't have any problem.

Dear shia88, I shampoo my hair on alternate days. I use Johnson& Johnson baby shampoo, shared it with my son... At times I will use Head & Shoulder to get rid of those dandruff. I do not blow dry. I let it dry naturally at room temperature. After shamppo my hair, I feel very good and refreshing. Thanks and do keep in touch!

Hello Iriene, You are using baby shampoo? I thought it wouldn't work nice on adult's hair, LOL. I never try that before, my kids are on Johnson and Johnson baby shampoo too. How about your hubs ? He is also on this baby shampoo? Nice to see you at others discussion!

Dear Iriene, I also like Johnson & johnson baby shampoo, the smell is nice. I used this shampoo when I was young, but now I have changed to Follow Me shampoo, It suit my hair type. Some people said, it is best not to blow dry our hair, to prevent it get dry easily. For me, I will only blow dry my hair when I am in rush for some functions or during night time. Or else, I will just let it dry by itself.

Hi patofgold, Another same habit that we have, washing hair every day. My head will feel lighter if I wash my hair everyday. Sometimes ,I will smell my own hair too,of course, not in front of public. I will do it in my bedroom. Having a nice smell hair will make me more confidence to get closer to my husband too.

Treatment will cost less money if you were to do it yourself at home. Nowadays alot of treatment oil is easily available in the market, simply get the one that suited your hair type and do it twice a month at home when you are free. I believe your hair will looks even better than now. I seldom do hair treatment at saloon, I believe I did it only once a year when I go either perm or rebond my hair, sametime let my hair gets a break, having hair treatment to pamper myself. No harm to pamper ourself once a year and it won't cost much too. Happy trying!!

Hi Rikuou123, Since you have a dry and curly hair, do you try to use special shampoo for dry hair,so that your hair won't looks so dry. You can get it at saloon, they sell specific shampoo for dry hair. Doing treatment is good for your dry hair too,Do you mean that you use conditioner to wash your hair everyday without any shampoo?? Frankly speaking, I never wash my hair using conditioner only. Nowadays alot of shampoo is come along with conditioner too (2 in 1),it is very practical.

I tried the shampoo-and-conditioner thing before, but it didn't work very well. My hair always felt really rough afterward. The same goes for shampooing too often. I use a very cheap conditioner to "shampoo" my hair. If you scrub well enough, it has the same effect as regular shampoo. I then use a special conditioner to actually "condition" my hair. It keeps my hair soft and keeps it from getting too frizzy. It sounds strange, but it works. Though I don't recommend it unless you have my kind of hair.

Hi Rikuou, You mentioned that you are using cheap conditioner, how cheap is that be? It makes me curious. For better result and to keep your hair healthy, don't really go for price when we purchase a shampoo. We don't want to harm our own hair, right? Just get the right shampoo and conditioner for our own hair and it keeps our hair healthier and looks nicer too.

A couple times a week. Usually only when I need it or have to go to work. My hair dries out with frequent washings and turns frizzier than I'd like. But I washed it more often too when I could afford the extra conditioning treatments and trips to the salon. I just use v05 or suave. I really liked Finesse but I don't have the extra money to pay for the brand name so I deal with the really cheap stuff.

HI SnuggleBunnies, Talking about brand of shampoo, I came across this Finesse brand and I tried it before. I love the smell. I used this shampoo long time ago when I was in Singapore. I saw my sister-in-law bought it and I also gave it a try. This shampoo is pretty good. My hair looks smoother and nicer. Don't always look at the price while buying a shampoo. The best is to get a right shampoo for your own hair.

I never apply shampoos for my hair and I prefer using natural herbs for washing and I used to wash my hair thrice a week. Yes, I do apply Coconut oil regularly inorder to protect my hair from dandruff and prevent hairfall. As I have a curly hair, i need to take these precautions.

Hi Vinslounge, You are using coconut oil to wash your hair and never apply shampoo on it. Will your hair looks super oily??? Nowadays there are plenty of shampoo for dandruff hair,Do you ever try it out?? I also experienced a hairfall afetr delivered my boy. I applied some oilment (bought from salon) to get new hair growth. Your hair is naturally curly or you perm it?? You might consider to rebond your hair, It looks straight and without a comb, your hair always looks nice.

Hi Bhargavoza, Since you have a thick and long hair, does it feel more comfortable to wash your hir frequently,at last 3-4 times/week? I also has a long hair and I permed my hair last year November. I wash my hair everyday especially after doing some cooking,I need to wash my hair to get rid off the oil smell.

Hi rosepedal, Since you have a dry dull hair, why don't go for rebonding? By rebonding your hair, you are easier to manage it. Do some hair treatment for your hair at least twice a month. It will helps your hair looks better. At least not too dry. Get the right shampoo for your dry hair.

Hi, i have a very long hair and used to shampoo it everyday. I have been busy lately so sometimes i shampoo once every two days. I heard people said, long hair is more fragile, and if the scalp is not really oily, then not necessary to shampoo every day. I have a normal scalp, neither dry nor oily. I use Pantene and Sunsilk now, sometimes i switch it if i boring with it already. I don't really have time to spare to do the treatment, usually i just used the Sunsilk serum (leave on hair) for damaged hair every time after finish shampoo my hair. I think this product is great, i used to either rebonding or perm and color my hair every year, but my hair still in great condition. The saloon stylist said with my previous perming, and then coloring, and then I did the rebonding, normally people need to cut short their hair, otherwise just keep their long damaged hair. I still keep my hair long, and it still healthy. Thanks to that serum. Have a nice day :)

I wash my hair every one or two days, depending on how grotty it is after the first day. I sometimes blow dry my hair, especially if I wash it in the morning and have to go out after, but if I wash it at night I usually let it just dry naturally. That's because high heat blow drying can really damage your hair. :P

HI Elenyae, I always blow dry my hair when I am in rush for some outing. I don't want my hair to look wet when I meet up with my friend. Since I have permed my hair, it is more time consuming in tidying up. I have to applied some gels to make my hair looks curly and nicer. If I do wash my hair at night, I like to blow dry too, because I can't sleep with a wet hair.

Hi alatecablebill, It is good to wash your hair everyday since it is exposed to dusts and dirst everyday. Keeping your hair healthy will make it grows healthier too. I never use conditioner for my hair everyday, twice a week and I will do my own hair treatment once a month.

I technically don't need to wash my hair every day, but I like to because I have fairly short hair, so it's just easier for me to wash my hair instead of using a shower cap every other day. My hair is very easy to wash, plus it takes me no time at all to blow dry it, so I just stick to washing it every day. It's also much easier to style it in the way I want to if I wash it every day, cause my hair will actually listen to me and not fly around like it does if I don't wash it every day. I will only not wash my hair if I was really busy that night or if it was really late at night and I needed to go to bed right after I shower.

Hi reichiru, Having a short hair is better than having a long hair. It is easier to manage and does not consume much time to comb short hairs. SOmemore, short hair is easier to dry too. No need a hair dryer to get it dry. I will only skip washing my hair every day when I fall sick. No choice!!

I wash my hair daily. For me, I have a very dry hair and curly too, so if I do not wash my hair regularly, my hair will get tangled easily. I will also dry my hair every time I washed it. Actually my hair will dropped quite a lot when I wash and blow my hair, but it is still okay for me because I have thick hair. Last time I used to do hair treatment at home, but now I am getting lazier. Maybe this is the reason makes my hair looked messy and dry! LOL! I am fine with any type of shampoo brand, as long as it would not make my hair getting dryer after using it.

Hi Shuetyeng, Try not to change the shampoo quite often. Once you have get the right shampoo for your hair, just stick to me to keep your hair grow healthier. Although you have a thick hair, it does not mean you can just let your hair drop everytime you wash and blow dry, especially if it dropped alot. It is best to consult with specialist on this problem to prevent further hair drops. Try to find a free time at weekend for a hair treatment,it will give a good effect for your hair.

I have super long, super freezy, relatively dry hair. I also live in Florida so humidity takes a big part in this. I wash my hair either every other day or every three days because my hair has very little oil. If I wash it everyday those natural oils will never amount to enough for me to brush out into my hair and help it grow. I use Head and Shoulders shampoo because it cleans and nurishes my hair like no other I have found and I switch my conditioners up every few weeks so my hair doesnt get use to any perticular product. If I know I'm going to wear my hair curly the next day I use Pantene Curl conditioner then put more conditioner in it when I wake up (Florida Humidity means I need it) but if I'm going to straighten it any regular kind will do. My hair is nice but hair work.

Hi Bstuff, Since you have a super long hair, it is best to keep your hair clean and healthier,Or else, it will be in mess and does not look nice. Do you ever consider to cut your hair shorter since you are living in humidity place. It is more easier for you to manage your hair too. Do get the right shampoo for your dry hair. Do some hair treatment when you have time. It will helps to make your hair looks smoother.
