I think I'm seriously needing to cut down the carbs right now. I feel I'm beginning to look fat. Not that I'm conscious and all but seriously people have begun noticing it. I didn't mind it at first but since a lot of people, yess almost everyone, including those who I haven't seen for along time, even those who I've been with up until the present said I've gain pounds. I NEED TO LOSE WEIGHT! :( What are the best ways to stop you urge to eat when it is not meal time? What are the best ways to cut down the rice and carbs ? And (I really need this) how to enjoy veggies?! :) haha!

When you feel a craving for carbs.,it takes time to rid yourself of this urge. But it can be done. Switching your rice to a slower cooking rice that has much more nutrition than 15 minute rice , the carbs are much easier to to digest .They also process without dumping on the hips. When hungry drink water and find something to do to get your mind off of it,the more you do this the easier it becomes. Chewing sugar free gum will also give you some relief from your hunger as the juice in the gum produces satisfaction to stomach .Veggies are great grilled, seasoned or even in stews. We eat veggies everyday for dinner in the form of salads. This way if you must give into temptation you have a bit to spare.Salads are fun and easy not to mention great for your health. Any raw veggies are great dipping them in something light tasting that you like to give them flavor,to steaming and seasoning.Once you have outed the bad carbs for a while ,you will not crave them anymore,Just be very careful not to slip back or the craving will also return.Once you feel better about your weight you can add some back in moderation,it will be easy to resist feeling healthier and happier to have lost some weight. I guess it goes without saying that exercise is a must in any plans to loose weight. Good Luck

Wow, thanks! I enjoy eating veggies when it is made into salads too! Actually, that's the only reason why I eat veggies:)) It's definitely fun to eat and a lot tasty. I need veggie snacks suggestions. Those I could pack and bring on the go when I'm not at home. Since I still go to school, I have no choice but to eat in fastfoods. So I considered bringing packed food as an option, with of course with veggie snacks! :)Plus, I would save money more than the usual. :)

Why not try apples or celery with some peanut butter ,No carbs but the protein in the peanut butter will fill you. I eat all fruit and veggies cut up with some nuts mixed into a fruit salad, again nuts= protein, filling you. Just eat the nuts and peanut butter in moderation. It will take you a bit to find what you like ,but veggies nor fruit alone will not satisfy your hunger. Leaving you hungry.

hi ressaa.. I had to check if you were a filipino first to answer your question as the medications that i will tell you may not be familiar to other countries. I am trying to loose weight too! And i think i really am losing weight because my officemates say so! 1. Eat fruits before and after a meal. Oh! Try being a pineapple addict! It will help you to suppress your appetite. 2. Take C-lium one hour before the meal. It comes in two forms, the capsule and the powder form. They have instructions on the bottle. I would recommend the powder form because it is cheaper! 3. If ever you would be doing exercises, drink coffee or tea first so that you can induce thermogenesis. That way, you would be able to burn more fat. I know you are familiar with Judy's Fitrum, but it is too expensive. Try buying fitreal instead as it costs P9.00 only compared to Fitrum's P23.00. By the way, if you are going to take these L-carnitine products, you should blend it in with Vitamin C for faster effect! 4. How can you resist snacks? Try acupressure. Press the thingy between your nose and your lips, the one with the ridge... that has been known to suppress your hunger. 5. Have you heard of apple cider vinegar? Combine one tablespoon of that and one glass of water and sip it with a straw while having your meal. It is a digestive aid that will make you feel full fast and it decreases your cravings too! 6. If you want to enjoy your veggies, put some few tricky meat. hehehe. Just make sure you eat more leaves. 7. Last but not least. Dont you ever sleep late ever! hehe i hope i was able to help.

Oh fitreal, you can get that in watsons or in mercury. But i am telling you, ever since angel locsin's commercial was out, everyone has been frantic about it because of its cheap price. As for lack of sleep, the cause is actually hormonal. When we sleep, our body releases leptin (which decreases appetite) and ghrelin (which increases appetite). Studies show that people who sleeps for 5 hours or less tend to have lesser leptin and higher ghrelin which makes a deadly combination for hunger pangs! Whats worse... these hormones are calling you to eat more carbs! I personally observed this when i had been out doing concerts, i get home late and sleep late; man! i could really eat 2 platefuls of rice in the morning!

So that explains it. Gosh, I've never thought of it that way. As for fitreal, is that a drink? Any other instructions regarding it? I think I'm desperate now. haha :)

Wow, I sure had a lot of suggestions from you. :) These would help big time! Where could I buy fitreal? and Yes I've heard of apple cider vinegar but I don't know where to get it. I have one problem though, I always sleep late! I need to finish my paperworks and everything so I have no choice. What would sleeping late do anyway? :)

As much as I could, I eat veggie salads cos they're the only things I enjoy eating when it comes to veggies. We used to eat brown rice. We had like so many supplies that I don't know where my dad got them. lol. I love potatoes, Except when they're made into fries and mashed potatoes only. :)

i love french fries but because i am more health conscious now i avoid it. i don't eat mash potatoes cause i am not good in making a delicious mash potato. so i just eat them boiled. i buy those small round potatoes. i add it to my boiled fish with some condiments and vegetables so potatoes is one of the vegetables on my viand. i still have not loss weight. but i am taking it easy. i am not really in a hurry to lose weight. i am trying to learn how to love other kinds of foods that are healthy though not the ones i got used to eating or the ones i grew up eating. cause i grew up eating fried foods and eating a lot of fast foods. i am having fun learning other menus that are more natural and health though sometimes kinda of more expensive. cause before i will just open canned foods and that was it. i was full that way. but, i have to think for my long term health. what would those processed foods do to my body. nothing good. so i really immediately changed my diet when i got the time to focus more on the foods i prepare and served on my table. before i was just too busy for that. when i have more time in my hands i will add physical exercise to hasten my weight loss.

My mom tries to explain that to me all the time. She says that we already live in a worl were people are too busy to make their on food that's why new endorsements regarding 1 step cooking are already endorsed which she doesn't agree with. I buy those mash potatoes at KFC since I can't make a nice one or a decent one at least :))

I am not a big carb eater, I personally love lettuce salads, but I found out that lettuce IS a carb. Now when I make a salad I use 1/2 the amount of lettuce and then use fresh spiniach. It really is taste and sometimes putting roasted chicken with it adds more flavor. I never knew lettuce was a carb.

I used to take carrot stickes and celery sticks with me all the time when in school. Or really popcorn, that is low in caleries and a good filler so you don't get hungry. Apples, oranges, bananas - all of those you can take with you because it doesn't need to be kept cold to keep it. I lived on those when in college.

No way? I never knew lettuce was a carb too! haha! Thanks for your suggestion. Maybe I would try doing that. I love salads and that's the only way I enjoy veggies actually. lol. My only problem is how to make veggie snacks for me to bring to school. In this way I could eat less at fast foods cause foods served there are really full of carbs.

Don't tell me you don't like tofu before too? What's with it? lol sorry :) MY boyfriend doesn't like them at all either. No matter what the consequence may be you would never ever make him eat tofu. It's really funny haha! Some of my friends, well majority, don't like it either. I just don't get it. As for me, that's the vegetable I think I enjoy eating most. I'm quite selective too, actually I don't like vegetables at all! Well, when It's restaurant served with all the garments and stuff we could make an exception though. As for home made, the taste is bearable so I guess its okay.

We have the same problem. You just need to exercise to loss and burn fat, walking is always the best. Don't drink soft drinks, just water or juice. You can't stop rice right away so just lessen it day by day until you can stand not eating rice. Lessen the junk foods and snacks. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables. To enjoy veggies?! just enjoy it or mix it up with good sauce or other veggies you like, if not, mince it and wrap it in lumpia wrappers.

hi rresssaaa well forone when I want to cut downon carbs I went'with my favorite veggies in a salad with a bit of ham, cheese or roasted beef chipped into it, and my fave Hidden valley ranch dressing as it made those veggies taste so good and helped me to keep my blood sugar on a good level.I am a diabetic and also overweight so need to cut carbs too.I have had to stop eating rice at all as even a tablespoonful shoots my blood glucose up really high. also i find there are some veggies I like better raw than cooked like cauliflower and broccoli and celery, as for tomatoes they are so low cal and so good if they are ripe. also some veggie soups let you get your veggies ina pleasant way, just look for low sodium and low fat.

I've been on a diet most of my life and after 20 years of dieting, I finally came to the realization that calories (not carbs) do count. I was keeping track of my calories but I saw a life extension program on Oprah and read about David Murdoch who is a fish vegetarian. He eats no processed foods, fruits, veggies, fish, whole grains and nuts. I adopted that eating style two weeks ago and lost 7 lbs in 2 weeks. He said that he never keeps track of how much he eats and I've found that to be true for me as well. I have a very hard time eating 1200 calories a day on this plan.

No, you don;t have to eat organic foods. Phe best way that I've heard to describe foods that are not processed is the way that Jillian Michaels from the Biggest Loser describes it. Don't eat anything that doesn;t come from the ground or that didn't have a mother. Processed foods are prepackaged foods like soups, canned spaghetti, hamburger helper, baked goods, lunch meats etc. Good luck on your diet.

7 pounds? wow that's a lot for me now. :) What do you mean by no processed? Does this mean I have to eat the all natural foods, the ones without preservatives? Oh no. I think I'll have a problem doing that since I live in the city and I'm surrounded by only fastfoods and food stalls everyday when I'm not at home.

Even if it's not meal time, and you feel like you're hungry you can have some fruits to snack in. And with regards to veggies... I have a sister who doesn't eat any kind of veggies and my parents is worried about her health, we found this Buddhist restaurant/store who sells veggie meat. We tried to buy some and cooked it like an ordinary meat (any dish), when my sister ate it she didn't even realized that what she's eating is made up of veggies. hahaha! It tastes like a real meat! try to look for some veggie alternatives. It won't make you gain weight. And try eating fiber rich foods like oatmeal and pomelo.
