I had experienced this once in my life. Friends, for you to further picture out what had happened, here's the story. On my way to work one time, my car broke down. Fortunately, there was a repair shop nearby. After an hour, I drove to work, but I got late, so my boss asked to me step down from my position as he already put someone to replace me. That situation really let me down...My only choice was to leave the company. After a week, another company called me up, offering me a position. Thus, I immediately accepted their offer.Even though I had a very bad experience from my previous company, that gave me another chance to move on and try another venture. How about your friends? Have you ever experienced this? If you were at my position at that time, what could you have done? You are welcome here to post your comments.:)

I think a good company will not sack a employee like this what you met, it is not resonable and not irresponsible.Everyone make mistakes, they should be given another chance, especially when they are unintentional. So, maybe leaving is a good choice for your career, although get a good job in this recession is a little hard.
Anyway, wish you good luck and be happy in the new job.BTW,have you got compensation when you left the last company?

That doesn't sound right of them to let you go because you are late due to something out of your control. Depending on your work environment it sounds like they were just looking for a reason to let you go and that happened to be it. Sorry friend.
And sometimes you have to take whatever job you are offered. Here there are more people then there are jobs due to the recession. I had to take whatever job was willing to work with my hubby's schedule so I don't have to pay daycare.
Goodluck to you @ your new job!
