Yeah, I know this is nothing new to everyone here, to mylot in their bedrooms but this is something great for me cause finally my brother and I have installed a wireless router. Though there is only one computer in the house and that is my laptop I installed a wireless router cause I wanted to cut down on the use of electricity. Working on my laptop the whole day inside the house I think uses much electricity cause I still need to turn on the lights and the electric fan cause its hot. I figured if I can use a wireless router, I can work on my online earnings outside the house at the garage where I don’t need to turn on a light and an electric fan cause it’s already breezy so, for this month, I ‘m going to observe if the electric bills will lessen. I hope my idea of cutting down the use of electricity is right.

hi iskayz. congratulations for having installed your wireless router, and for having time to mylot even in your bedroom. i know how it feels to be online and mylotting even in the bedroom or anywhere else in the house. i have my phone (at least for now, as i have no laptop or desktop at home) which i can use to connect in the internet. and that keeps me online even during bedtime. neil

Ah.. Your teckie cellphone. I remember that hehe but I didn't know that you are just using your cellphone to mylot. I thought you just only use it whenever you are out. Isn't it hard to use your cellphone to type?

I admire you for trying to save my friend but the idea of you outside in the garage is sad I really do hope that all your efforts to save will be worth it. Will you be making a nice corner for you in the garage so that it seems more pleasant to be there?

Hehe my garage already looks nice. I have a little patio and plants and it doesn't really look like a garage anymore but an extension of the house like a garden. I sold my car years ago so I converted the place into my little garden.

Oh that sound really nice! If your surroundings are pleasant then I can see you will be here even more than before - especially now you can save by being here!

Precisely! I can spend more time here not worrying that I have used up more electricity because the lights and fans are turned on almost the whole day. Sometimes it's the reason why I have to stop being online, controlling my use of electricity. The dogs will also be happy cause they can run around the garage and get some fresh air too! And I can still watch over them.

That's nice to hear from you. It doesn't matter which part in your house you would be connecting to the web on doing your stuff like mylotting. The thing here is that she is taking advantage of the feature of her devices, and that is portability. For me, I don't need any wireless routers since I only use my mobile phone to earn here in mylot. I can in anywhere for as long as there's signal elsewhere. :)

Now we can concentrate to earn money online and make tons of comments and discussions in mylot to get our very first payout. I admire your idea of cutting down electricity and i hope it will be fruitful. You earn money for free and get the chance to lessen the use of electricity..Good idea

Oh so you have installed your wireless router too! I am happy for you of course. I do hope my efforts will be worth it, with crossed fingers. I'm not sure though if my idea is right but I have to try and think of ways to lessen the use of electricity. I am already excited to receive my next electric bill hehe.

Yeah 2 weeks ago it had been installed. Don't worry about the electric bill, mylot will give your payout next month so you have it covered . But in order to do so--- as i have said....tons of comments and discussion first lol. Anyhow, if your saving of electricity works, i might try that as well. I think it's really a good idea

Yeah, the wireless router is quite convenient. I have the wireless router for a long time, so I can access internet anywhere from my home. If you have a good relation with your neighbor, you can even share the internet with him/her. I love China

Hi youless! Well, my neighbor already has an internet connection. They're using other subscriber. I don't know if any of my neighbor needs an internet and why not. I can maybe share my connection with them but, I might ask for a share of the subscription fee too. What do you think? Would that be a bad idea?

Yeah youless, why not? Paying half of the internet subscription is a good way to cut down the expenses, again. Hmm.. maybe I'll ask my other neighbors if they would like the idea.

Hi zed! Well I hope that the electric bills will decrease because of the router. It is sometimes hard to concentrate on my earnings if I kept thinking that the electric fan is running all day long hehe.

wow that is really cool. i really love to bring anywhere my computer around the house but mine is desktop and i used wired router. so when i have to do something on other part of the house i can't bring the computer with me. i do want to have money to buy laptop cause i want to bring my computer and do internet anywhere in the house.

Hi hotsummer! I have seen some brand of laptops in the market that aren't too expensive. Some ranges from php16,000 - 20,000, MSI and Asus brands. If you are going to do mylot and other online stuffs, I guess that would be a good investment. The hardware component within that price is already good too!

You are right hotsummer that desktops are still better than laptops when it comes to hardwares. You can still upgrade them unlike laptops. Laptops is just for convenience and mobility. For people who are always on the go. But if you're the type who needs good hardware, desktop is what I suggest. I have a desktop before but it broke that is why I am now using a laptop. I don't do much with my computer other than my online earnings so laptops is just fine with me.

but isnt the screen of that less expensive laptop quit too small. but anyways, i think that it is really good to buy laptop. but still i don't have much money saved yet. ha ha. i don't think i can afford now to buy a laptop. maybe someday but definitely not now. and i feel with that price of 16,000 i can buy already a very fast desktop like Core 2 duo. which is much better than laptop though still i will be stuck in one place. but it will be good if i have more than one computer. and i love fast computer or cpu. i like to browse the net fast and get to load things fast without hanging problems. as i think that laptop that with that price will be slow too sometimes. or not as fast.

Actually, that isn't a very bad idea. I like the thought of working with completely natural light. You could also try working on cooler days in a room with a window facing the sun, which should give you a nice amount of light with less disturbance from the outside (bugs, etc.) and an easier place to work because of maybe a desk or a table. But if you work outside, then it probably will cut down slightly on your electricity use.

Hey cbakin! Working near the window where is a good idea! It's already brighter near the window and I won't be needing to turn on the lights anymore. There is also breeze coming in so it's not quite hotter. Thanks for the tip!

Hi iskayz, how r u doing? Remember me? :) Well, to be honest, I am not sure it is such a great idea. :( U need certain amount of ventilation, light, and fan if it is hot out there. Saving on light now might lead to problems with eyes later! And heat might make u irritable. So I'd look for comfort and ergonomics, rather than saving on power. Of course, I do not know if ur bedroom is well ventilated, and has adequate light, and air.

Of course I remember you my friend! Well, don't worry cause my garage is just fine. It's an open type garage so it's well ventilated ans well lighted hehe. It can be extremely hot if it's really hot outside but if that is the case, I can always work inside the house. Besides, I am only going to stay in the garage if the weather is fine. My bedroom is also well ventilated. But I'm not going to really work inside my bedroom. I just tested the router last night.

wow that's great. i didn't know that there's a wireless router.the traditional router that i see in our workplace is that machine full of wires. we have networks of pcs here so the net is not that speedy.what you did there at home is really fantastic.i hope i can buy that too.is it affordable?

Hi flagella! Wireless Routers are already quite affordable these days not like when they were first introduced in the market. Buy at CDR King. They sell cheap computer paraphernalia. But make sure that your computer is wifi ready. The traditional router with all those cables are sometimes messy. The cables gets tangled with each other.

Do You need to use lighting indoors during the Day? being able to take Your laptop outside during the daytime will save some electricity on ventilation and lighting, but the wireless router will be an extra, though smaller load on your supply..Hope You get some good weather to be able to take advantage of your new mobility!

Hi shepherdspy! Inside the house, yes, I still have to turn on the light or a lamp beside my laptop cause where my internet cable is, it's quite darker. Since my laptop is connected to the cable I can't bring the laptop anywhere or even near the window where it is more brighter. Now about the weather, so far so good. The weather is fine and I'm thankful. If it happens to be raining, I can still mylot inside the house and even though I have to turn on a light, I don't need to turn on the electric fans cause when it rains the weather is cooler. I have really though about these things so I know what other possibilities I can do to save electricity.

That is a good idea. My husband lives in a different country recently and he was very excited to get a wireless router last month. I think routers are not that common in my country. I have seen that only once in a big hotel in Delhi, where they provide free internet anywhere inside the hotel. I have heard that there is free internet in all coffee shops and hotel in western countries.

Yes, usually at business establishments they have set up a wifi to attract more customers. Here in the Philippines some establishment are already offering wifi connection. In my hometown McDonald's have a wifi and I can't believe it cause usually it is only common at cafes and bars.

Yes inuceres, that's true. And since I cannot minimize my use of my laptop and obviously I cannot have my internet connection cut-off, I have to think of other ways on how to lessen my monthly bills. Like when I decided to end my cable subscription for my TV a year ago just to keep my internet connection. Keep posting!

Good for you!! I do take these steps once in a while too in order to curb down on my expenses. Hopefully, it doesn't backfire on you since you such that you'd end up spending more in the process. But it is nonetheless a practical idea. Hope it helps to cut down on your expenses because as I see you really took this as a form of investment.

Hi abby! I've thought about this several times. I know wireless router is quite an investment and the price of the gadget took 2 months of my mylot earnings but I figured if I can minimize the use of the fan and the light, I can somehow earn back the amount I have spent for the router. I know after sometime the electricity rate will go down. I know. I just know for sure.
