I am currently curled up in my sofa watching the US OPEN Men's Singles Semi-Finals between Rafael Nadal and Juan Martin del Potro. This is not the match that I'm waiting staying up late for though, I am waiting for Roger Federer vs. Novak Djokovic. I am more of a Federer fan than a Nadal.
So while I am keeping myself busy here watching and waiting for Nadal's match to finish, I would like to know if anyone here is into sports.
Do have any sport/s that you play? What is it?
Or are you just like me who is not into physical activities other than walking and running and is already satisfied watching her favorite sport and cheering for her favorite teams or athlete?
I would like to know and make a tally of the most favorite sport of different people.
Okay, I'l go first. I love love love watching tournament tennis (Wimbledon, French Open, US Open, Australian Open) and college basketball. My favorite tennis players are Roger Federer, Gilles Simon, Andy Roddick, Dinara Safina, etc. and my all-time favorite Pete Sampras. In college basketball of course I root and cheer for my alma mater, De La Salle University Green Archers and De La Salle- College of Saint Benilde Blazers. SInce college teams change players often, I would just share my all-time favorites: JV Casio, Joseph Yeo, TY Tang and the rest of that batch and for the Blazers, I will be biased and say my nephew, Mark de Guzman.
So, how about you?

At age of 30, I've just recently begun to watch football--to watch and analyze successful plays, and to also root for underdogs. But, don't call me their number one fan yet. I enjoy martial arts much more and will watch a tourney on the tube anytime if one happens to be on, and (feel free to snicker here) I like hacky sack, because to date it's the only cooperative (as opposted to competitive) sport/game that I know of.

Sorry that you had to wait a really long time to see the Federer vs. Djokovic match. I am a big tennis fan, too and I used to play some(mostly when I was in graduate school) but haven't for a long time. Currently my favorite player is Ana Ivanovic even though she is going through a really rough patch dealing with injuries that keep her from practicing which means she is just not ready to play matches in tournaments. My all time favorite players are Martina Hingis and Jimmy Connors. I am also a bit of an American style football fan especially when comes to the University of Texas in Austin where I went to graduate school and to the Dallas Cowboys professional team.

I used to be very active during school when I used to play football (what you might call soccer), handball and table tennis; during high school, when I used to play football and volleyball; and less during college, when I used to play football and table tennis, badminton and volleyball (one at a time, in consecutive years).
Now I rarely do any sport, because it's very difficult for the old gang to meet and play some football... I play badminton once in a while.
I do however enjoy watching sports, and let me say I like many sports.
First of all, I watch football, where I support Steaua Bucharest (from the Romanian League), Manchester United (of the Premiership), FC Barcelona (from Spain), Juventus Torino (Italy) and Borussia Dortmund (Germany).
I am developing a taste for rugby, where I don't have a favourite team yet, I just watch international games.
I enjoy watching track and field events, snooker tournaments (I cheer for Ronnie O'Sullivan and Ding Junhui), sumo tournaments (I am very upset that Eurosport stopped showing sumo...), handball international tournaments (especially women's competitions, where Romania has a fairly good team), swimming competitions, some of the cycling tours (especially the Tour of France), and some other sports I can't remember right now... I watch tennis when the Romanian Davis Cup team gets to play.
I don't like motor sports or fighting sports (except for the sumo). There are some things I don't even consider to be a sport, such as wrestling...

I do like tennis, but only for certain matches.. lol =D I dun like long matches, but i do wanna see some powerful plays between players.. hehe ^_^
I dun mind a short match as long as it's exciting, with both sides wanting to win it badly.. I like Nadal because of his strength and stamina.. haha =D As for other sports, i do watch them too, especially soccer.. hehe ^_^
For physical sports, i'm actually into all kinds of ball games, except for rugby and golf.. hehe ^_^ Other than that, all kinds of sports are not of a problem to me.. I'm into weights training as well as running too.. haha =D
