Well when you reach 100 posts (the number in () next to your name) you will get a star next to your name and you just need to hold your mouse over it and it'll tell you your rating. But you need 100 posts before getting a star.

To get a higher rating you have to start discussions or post responses that have a high quality. People will rate your discussions/response with the +/- signs. That will increase your rating. Each + on your content will add 1 to your rating (I think) and each - will minus 1 to your rating (I think...)
