Do you think what Kanye West did to Taylor Swift was right?

Taylor Swift just won a Video Music Award for best video of the year. During her acceptance speech Kanye West ran up on stage took the mic from Taylor and told everyone Beyonce (who was up against her for the award) made one of the best videos of all time, leaving poor Taylor sitting there totally embaressed. It was one of the crueless and rudest things I've ever seen in my life. He looked like a complete tool. I'm still in shock he would have the audacity to do something like this.
How do you feel about it? Do you think he had any right to do that? How would you feel being Taylor in that moment?

Really? Wow, I'm baffled.. I think Taylor would be very stunned, for sure. Beyonce is one of the best artistes ever, no doubt about it, but I think they wanna try to award newcomers as well. I am a fan of both Taylor and Knowles and Kanye doing that? Totally unexpected...... If I'm right, I don't think Beyonce appreciates that gesture, because she is a very sporting lady.

I also am a fan of both girls. Both video's were good. Kanye is entitled to his own opinion, but the VMA's arent designed to please him. They are designed to pick out the best. I am sick of hearing about all the rude things Kanye West does, and unfortunately I now will never buy any of his products. He needs to think before he acts, just because he is famous dosn't mean that everyone would like to hear his opinion. In fact I'd rather he kept his damn mouth shut.

I'm glad beyounce rebuddled this though, and brought Taylor back on stage to finish her acceptance. Shows how much class the ladies have.
I will never listen to Kanye again. This is disrespectful.

it was horrible what he did. i think all the girls were worthy of it but taylor was shocked that she won. i thought she was going to start crying after what he just said. it was so cruel. im glad he got booed when diddy said his name. taylor did a kick butt performance! what a sweet girl. beyonce's performance was great as well. i like them both as artists.

I like both of them as well but what he did was so wrong. I commend Taylor for giving that rocking performance right after that. I would have probably been crying my eyes out. Kanye always does something dumb at the VMA's but this def. took it too far.

Did this thing happen? Where and when? Better search it right after posting this comment.
That was rude remark made by Kanye... Ut's like he told Taylor that she doesn't deserve the award. So rude and no respect at all to the award giving body and to the program itself. Was he drunk by the way? I bet a lot of his fans will be turned-off with what he did.

First let me say that i like Kanye West as an artist. I also defended him in the past when he made certain comments or statements like the George Bush statement he made before but this time i think he went too far for what he did to Taylor Swift. And i am not a fan of Taylor Swift but she won this award, she deserved it,and this was her moment, no one has the right to do this to anyone. Kanye really dissapointed me and left a bad taste in my mouth after this. I believe Beyonce did the right thing by giving Taylor Swift her moment. Making Kanye look like a fool for what he did. He deserved to get booed and should continue to get booed after this. He really let his fame and money go to his head which is a shame for someone who claims he literally came from nothing and struggled through a devastating car accident that nearly killed him. SO SAD KANYE. SO SAD.

Yeah I have excused a lot of his stuff because of his past family tradgies but this did take it too far. Beyonce is a class act. It was said Pink had to be escorted away from him after because she was in his face about it AND Taylor was seen back stage crying histerically so sad.

He really did that?
Who he think he was? We all know that Beyonce was a good artist that's for sure but it doesnt mean she will always be the best among all.
What Kayne did was so mean. Yeah he's also a good artist but duHh...there's more than what he was inside...I hate him!

What an a$$, i didn't see it but for him to do that only assure the fact that he his an egotistical, self absorbed, pompous piece of crap. He is so full of himself that he thinks he can do or say anything, shame on him, I have to say this but I think his mother would be ashamed of his behavior, everyone should be ashamed of his behavior. What a f ing a$$ kanye west is.

Wow I must have missed something. I am so mad at myself for not watching the VMAs. That is so rude to just take Taylor Swifts moment away, and I bet it embarrassed beyonce too. I really don't even like Kanye West for that matter. His fame has really gone to him.

If someone would like to hear a opinion from a 16 year old one, i think Kanye didn't do it becouse he is bad or evil or whatever. For me, it is all about marketing. When everyone talks about it today, then everyone will watch the VMA repetition next weekend! Not just the people that couldn't already watch it, i mean A LOT of people. Something like this happened with eminem and some kind of angel hanging there in another mtv award this year, don't you notice it people? How the media use different tricks to attrac people? Maybe i am wrong. Keep MyLotting

I knew the Em thing was staged when it happened but I just felt the Kanye thing was all his doing. Like MTV knew he would probably do something stupid because lets face it thats what Kanyes good at but they didnt except THAT. Not with Americas sweetheart.

Hi, BStuff.
Ewww. Was Kanye West in his right mind? That can't be good for him.
I like Taylor Swift. To be that young and achieving so much, no one has any right to embarrass her that way. I also respect Beyonce Knowles for all her achievements. She has also shown that she is a nice and very talented lady when she had her concert here in the Philippines.
I pity Kanye West. I cannot imagine what he is trying to prove when he did that. Neither Taylor Swift nor Beyonce Knowles has to explain or prove anything. Not their fault.
Take care.

This just shouldn't happen. Not only is it completely rude, it shows how bad these people are at following social rules. They believe that they're better than everyone, and as a result think they can do whatever they want. If Beyonce was embarrassed by this, then it probably wasn't her paying him to do it. And if it was, that would just be even worse. I would feel horrible being Taylor at that moment and I feel that he had NO right to be up there doing that to her.

I think Taylor handled herself in the best way possible. I love that she nailed her performance shortly after the outburst from Kanye. She is a young deserving girl and we will see more from her in the future.

I think it was in poor taste. There is a thing called "tact" and Kayne West appears not to possess it! There is a time and place for everything. If he felt that way that was not the place or the time to express it. He is entitled to his opinion, but what he did was inexcusable. I personally don't listen to any of their music. But the lines bewtween right and wrong is very clear.

I was watching it alone in my bedroom, and I couldn't react for about 10 or 20 minutes... I was so shocked that my sister thought I was ill when she entered the room. I still can't believe he was able to do that, in front of the whole world. I mean, how would he feel if I came up and said that Usher or 50 Cent made a better video than him? I think it was plain rude, and he made a total fool of himself... I'm so sorry for Taylor, that had to perform minutes later, It was a great detail from Beyonce to call her on to stage and let her finish what she had started
Happy MyLotting and have a nice day!

I too think he was very rude, every artist, specially new ones are entitled to their moment of fame and recognition, what he did was totally rude, embarrassing and shameless for both Taylor Swift and Beyonce, not to mention how foolish he looked. But i think what beyonce did was a good thing, how she called Taylor swift back just so she could enjoy her moment, this was the cool thing to do, not to mention classy.

I heard about that today. I thought it was rather rude to do that to her. There can be major jerks out there. I agree he made himself look like a fool for doing that to her. Know I don't think he had any right to do that to her at all. I would have told him he looked like a fool for doing what he did. And ask him if he would like it if someone did that to him.

First and foremost, I have to say that I am not a hardcore fan of Taylor Swift so i can assure you that I am not going to rant about how cool I think she is while tears stream down my face like a loon. She is a sweet girl with a sweet voice with her composed songs to match, but because of it constantly plating over and over on the radio and my friends' mouths, I can hardly tolerate its lyrics most of the time. That does not mean I hate her though. I am a music lover and I respect the unique style that different artists call their personal style of music. The songs they sing embody the kind of person they are. All the more if they actually wrote the song. I think Taylor is very original. Her songs reflect the experiences she had gone through. Experiences that teenagers like me can relate to. Sometimes, I even find myself singing her tunes out loud unconsciously. It is oddly addicting and catchy. Even if I do not like her very much, it does not give me a right to humiliate her. Let along be an award-winning celebrity, with a high status in the world of show business and seen by all, and march up the stage showing my contradiction.
It was quite rude of rapper Kanye West to publicly display his opinion. When I saw the video about the award show and the outburst from Kanye, I asked myself, "Who the hell cares what he thinks?" Honestly, he had some guts to just take the microphone from Taylor who was in the middle of her thank-you speech. He just dissed Taylor Swift - young and fresh, loved, country singer - TAYLOR SWIFT. VMA is probably based on the fans of the artists and since Taylor's target audience is the youth, she won the hearts of most of the world's population. The middle-aged dude looked totally mental. It was not appropriate. Wrong timing is an understatement for what he did.
Kanye was immature. It was not a shock though. Taylor was not the first person whom he humiliated in front of his fellow celebrities and the world who witnessed the whole event. It was pretty hilarious to see Beyonce's reaction when Kanye pointed at her saying her video was one of the best even though Taylor's was obviously picked. The shiny trophy in her hands was proof of it. Kanye should have acted his age and could have educated himself to the word "sensitivity". Taylor looked so pitiful, probably too stunned to say or do anything or even blinking back tears. I wouldn't know what to do if I were put into that position.
Taylor, on the other hand, dealt the situation quite nobly on the spot. She did not spite Kanye and never retorted. Kanye was acting like a bully in a public school. Stupid and a sad, sad way to get attention.

I do agree with you! Kanye could have picked a better time and place to rant about what he felt, but what I saw on the video was way, way, rude. I mean, did someone even bother teaching him manners? His publicity stunt actually made him look like the a*hole and not the hero. I think he broadcasted to the world that he was Beyonce's number 1 fan. Taylor merely stood there and gave the microphone to one of those on stage. Kanye acted immaturely and inappropriately. Tsk tsk. Things you do to get attention when the world leaves you for newer and better prospects.

I didn't watch the MTV awards, but I saw a video posted on yahoo. I don't think it was right, but I must admit it was kind've funny. Poor Beyonce, did you see the look on her face? I thought it was nice that she gave Taylor Swift the chance to say what she wanted though. If I would've been her, I probably would snatched the Mic right back. Part of me wonders if it was just a setup though, kind've odd they would allow such a thing to happen. But, then again... it IS mtv.

I dont think it was planned by anyone but Kanye because poor Taylors face was that of shock and a lot of people said she was back stage crying her eyes out over it. Kanye just picked her because he knew she wouldnt fight back if Pink won that award he sure as hell wouldnt have done that
