What did you think of it? I personally thought it was totally disrespectful. Even though I am not a fan of Taylor Swift, I sympathize with her after all that has happened. Kanye might not agree with the result and Taylor winning the Best Female Video award during the said show, but I think there is a better way of showing your disagreement than to publicly humiliate someone. For those who are unaware of this event, you can read the details here: http://new.music.yahoo.com/blogs/hiphopmediatraining/171413/kanye-west-has-truly-lost-it-this-time/Share your thoughts on this.

What Kanye did was very bad! People are entitled to their own opinion, but there is always the right avenue to do that. It wasn't proper for him to interrupt Taylor Swift's moment and say that Beyonce or someone else should've won the award. It's not like his is the only opinion that mattered, right? If he wanted to complain, maybe he should've done it on his site or somewhere else, not on that very stage. Now Taylor has the people's sympathy. Poor Kanye.

Exactly! He got a dose of his own medicine and so he had to endure hearing the crowd booing him all the time. In fact, I heard that people kept booing whenever his name is even mentioned. That behavior was just uncalled for! And I'm pretty sure he wouldn;t have liked it either if someone cut him off in the middle of his speech!

I'd really boo Kanye if I were there. On the other hand, I applaud Beyonce for calling Taylor back to finish her speech. That was so kind of her.

I am so appalled at Kanye. I don't care much for his music, but I am a huge Taylor Swift fan. He embarrassed her on national television, and that was uncalled for. She is a very gifted musician, but she's only a teenager! He oughta be ashamed of himself! However, I am truly touched by the kindness that was shown by Beyonce when she asked Taylor to come onstage and finish saying thank you. Beyonce has always been a great artist, but she has earned the respect of a lot of country music fans. Congratulations, Taylor on your award, and Kudos to Beyonce!

I think kanye did this without realizing what he was doing. well not really. He probably regrets it already. Never the less, it was still wrong. I like both Beyonce and taylor. and have now more respect for beyonce after what she did. this little scene might have ruined kanye's career. good luck with you life, kanye. now everyone knows how you mind works.

He actually just recently appeared in Jay Leno's show and expressed his desire to personally apologize to Taylor. I was like, uh whatever, the damage has been done. Now more people get to appreciate Taylor and Beyonce after all that happened!

I thought it was rude and uncalled for. If he had issues with who the winners were then he could have just voiced it on his web page instead of ruining Taylor Swifts' moment.

Even Perez Hilton had class enough to keep his mouth shut while Carrie Prejean was giving her answer to his question. I don't like the guy, but I have to give him credit for going onto his website to blast what he viewed as a homophobic opinion.
Kanye's an idiot.

Exactly! Can he hold his tongue for like until the show is over? Or, he wants to give awards to people who HE THINKS truly deserve it, then why not start his own award shows, for god's sake!

I was just going to post about this. What a shameful and disrespectful way to act. I felt so bad for Taylor Swift and for Beyonce really because she had nothing to do with it but got dragged in. He definitly deserved all the booing.

I totally agree, I think most of them do their work and work hard at their craft, and Taylor is still a young performer who was ecstatic at her first VMA award and what Kanye did was distasteful and I think, honestly I don't know how, that he should be punished for it, even though he apologized in his blog, I don't think it quite enough

Really! that is probably why Beyonce made up for it by giving Taylor her moment when it was supposedly for her. That was really sweet of her to do that.

Actually, I didn't see it, but I heard about it. Not very surprising. Kanye has a history of doing such things. He does many rude and bad things. Many years ago, they asked him about Hurrican Katherina and he turned around and said, "George Bush doesn't care about black people!" To be honest, I think he's a bit crazy and a racist.

That statement is quite ironic too, right. By claiming that others are racist, he is imposing or even inviting racism. But being rude is probably a part of his nature already. He needs to learn the art of holding himself (or his tongue) before making a comment that will not only ruin his musical career but his personal reputation itself. but then again, what else is new with Kanye, right? It's just a matter of "whose next" on his list.

I am kind of a fan of Swift, but I have to say that what Kanye did was completely disrespectful. She's only 19 years old and was standing in front of all these people that she doesn't even work with because she's country and they're not, trying to make a good impression, and he comes up and rips the microphone out of her hand! He's a grown man! I did think that Beyonce having Taylor come back on stage later in the show when she won was a very nice thing for her to do to show that she didn't support what Kanye had done.

It was nice to hear from an actual fan of Taylor's. And very well said there. More than just an act of consolation for Taylor, what Beyonce did was a classy way to tell Kanye that what he did was totally inappropriate!

I'd go for the latter. Apparently, he let his mouth took over his mind. He should have known better and I hope it's something that he'd have to pay for.

well, this isn't even the first time that he's gotten on the VMA's and showed his butt. He did it last year, because HE didn't win. He is just an overpaid, blown up THUG with no class. All one has to do is listen to the majority of his lyrics in order to see what kind of man he is. (or what kind of man he's NOT)
I'm curious, after Kris Allen singing one of his songs on the American Idol tour, and Taylor being an AI Alumni...what they will say the whole incident. All I can say is hats of Byonce for having enough class for both of them.

way to go for women!!! they represent well. I am not a Taylor fan myself, but I empathize with her. She handled the situation with a lot of class. If kanye would have done that to somebody else, I couldn't imagine what they would have done to Kanye! But taylor, as well as Beyonce, showed major class!

I personally thought that Kane was having a bad moment or he just went crazy. Who knows. Whatever made him do what he did was totally uncalled for, then again with so much tricks and punked going on at these awards, I won't be surprised in later in the week we hear that it was all one big joke

I heard he was drinking Hennessy while on the red carpet. So, it might have got into his head.. But, whatever! that's still no excuse for his behavior, right?

Well he's KSP. Why the hell did he do that for? I agree, it's totally disrespectful. Most especially since Taylor Swift is female and embarrassing her in public just made him look like a jerk. Correction, he's a jerk now. lol! I guess it showed his character as a person. I don't think Beyonce's even happy with it. I would even consider it harassment on the part of Taylor Swift. I seriously think he should be arrested for barging in when he's not supposed to.

Or an even better suggestion would be to ban him from future VMAs? That was just plain rude and no one could see the point of him doing that. WHat a great way to gain publicity, eh?

Whatever that special vanity gland is that celebrities seem to have, Kanye's is enlarged and needs to be removed. Most celebrities want to be in the limelight, they want to be loved and admired. But this dude takes it entirely too far.
He seems to have it in for country music in general.
Remember when he first came on the scene? He dropped his first "hit" when Gretchen Wilson released her Redneck Woman and won the Artist of the Year award instead of him. Kanye then cried like a baby to reporters. That got him a lot of attention. Gretchen quietly went back to making music, while Kanye went on to relish that particular brand of attention. The scary part, however, is that the first time he acted up didn't seem to be for attention. He was basically saying that Gretchen's "type" of music was garbage and that his music was better.
He then completely embarrassed Mike Myers and everyone else at the Katrina charity drive by declaring "George Bush doesn't care about black people," and he's a regular screw-up overseas at the MTV Euro Awards when he doesn't win. He insists that he's the best thing going.
This has become Kanye's MO. He abruptly disrupts and interupts in order to gain attention. My opinion is that he's determined to not fade into oblivion like so many rap stars do. Once the next hottest thing comes along, Kanye will be just some guy. I think he's deathly afraid of that happening.

I'm starting to wonder why they even keep letting Kayne West into award shows, maybe even out of the house for that matter .
This isn't the first time he rudely expressed his opinion at an award show. I believe the lasttime he was upset because he didn't win and he stormed on stage to let everyone know how wrong they were. He obviously has social issues that he should really have dealt with.
Taylor Swift is not the one who voted herself for that award. She won it because the opinion of the people. His opinion is not THE opinion of all. He needs to understand that he is not the only person in this world.
It is impossible to not know who Taylor Swift is. You turn on the radio whether a country channel or not and it is immpossible to avoid even one of her many, many songs. Why? Because people like her and request her, a lot. She writes her own songs plays her own music and sings her own songs. She is very talented, you don't have to like her music to know that.
People like Beyonce too, but I surely hear Taylor Swift way more, though she has 2 catergories where Beyonce only has one. Beyonce won that same night too and was sweet enough to let Taylor Swift finish her speech instead of giving one herself. Now that is classy.
It seems only Kayne West thinks the world revolves around himself. Thankfully!

I also liked some of his music too. But i don't like his general attitude of being so hateful of others. He always likes to compare instead of just helping other artists grow such that the music industry as a whole grows as well.

I personally think it's rude and disrespectful not to mention childish. I think he simply has issues relating to him not getting his way or others that he thinks deserve it more getting their way. I'm waiting for this to turn into a whole, they hate black people thing, she only got it because she's white type of thing.

Definitely bad behavior.. I think everyone agree that it was disrespectful and so unprofessional of Kanye to do that.
Yes, he might not agree with the judges choice of Taylor and yes Beyonce also has a beautiful music video but that does not mean that no one else can win.
I too am not a fan of Taylor Swift but with what happened to her I think, majority of people who weren't fans, became instant fans because of this occurrence.

all of a sudden this guy just forgot his manners and right place to debate. luckily taylor didn't budge and slap his face out. she did deserve that award, he better be careful from now on. that was so pathetic of his remark.he shouldn't host that show in the first place.

And an important point to consider is that was a popularity vote.. THe VMAs does not value his opinion By saying that, he has insulted everyone who has voted for Taylor to win that award. Not to say that I was exactly going to vote for Taylor myself, but that is the purpose of voting, right?
