Make exercise nonnegotiable. Many of us have stagnant life and spend most hours in front of the computer mylotting without realizing that we have grown sideways fast as a result of immobility. You have started an exercise program and feel good but maintaining it on a daily basis is something not everyone of us can sacrifice our time doing. Halfhearted efforts yield halfhearted results. Taking ten minutes a day doing some stretching can do wonders to our body weight. Not only that it can help reduce some of the risk factors associated with obesity and can help improve some of the symptoms linked to diabetes and high cholesterol. We are aware that these disease are silent killers. So stay motivated, don't procrastinate, and keep on exercising.

I do yoga while brushing my teeth each day I have an electric tooth brush which gives me 30 seconds on each quarter of my teeth. I stand on one leg for 60 secs and then the other, no hands just balance. Then I do tummy exercises, about 200 of these while I do the rest of my daily bathroom prep. You know hair, lotion, deodorant etc. Next I walk for about 10 mins each day and i still go to the gym for yoga three days a week.

wow... you are in full swing with your exercise regime. I can visualize how fit you are now. We all can stay fit and fit it into our schedule. Maybe a few yoga stretches at bedtime will ease tension in our muscles.

I tend to exercise my fingers a lot (typing) and my arms, well mostly my right arm (drinking coffee) and that is about as far as it goes I do a lot of thinking so my brain should be getting enough every day as I do tend to think about everything I read and see Other than that, no I am not really very active

I can see that your fingers are slender. I agree mylotting keeps the brain exercised and people who are here everyday are less likely ending up senile in their old age. Oh.. I forgot we have golden members here who are very sharp mentally.

Lucky we have landed in mylot early. Now we don't have to worry about our brain part when we reach the twilight years as we have feed it enough of mylot tonic. It will remain ageless as we are interacting daily with people of all ages here and that keeps our brain in tip top condition. You bet.

ha ha ha ha ha... I have sort of abandon my exercise routine for a long time. After long hours at work, all I wanna do at home is to slouch in front of the TV and relax. Making that effort to exercise is the last thing on my mind! Ha ha ha... and yes, the waistline has been expanding a little. Looks like I have to move my butt to loose some weight before the year end holiday season hits. Otherwise, I am just gonna be loading a few more pounds when the feasting starts!

ha ha ha ha ha ... that is good. That is good. At least it is exercise. Not vigorous, but you are still moving about rather than just sitting down all the time!

Hi zandhi, I would say that until this Easter my exercise was just walking and swimming which was more like floating lazily in the sea, but I was frightened to attempt more as had severe pain for up to several hours a day from nerve damage caused by upper disc problems. Then I had the good fortune to meet a doctor wawho made it his business to help me and we'd meet for several hours eaach week gradually building up an exercise programme to first strengthen my neck muscles, then arms, then back. They are difficult and include the use of weights and are slow exercises which must be done in an exact fashion. Within a few weeks I was seeing the benefits and the constant pain had gone and I was suddenly able to drive again normally. I contine with the regime which takes one hour a day as the back must be worked on daily. Also I hold myself in a different way now always being aware of the correct posture to suit my neck. One of the pleasant results of this is that although I am very slim I actually have an improved shape from doing this. After all the time my friend put in with me I could never let him down now by stopping as he changed my life around.

I am envious of people who despite being in their middle age are still having a body of a 20 year old. Gone are the days where I can parade in my bikini and getting all the wolf whistles as I went splashing in the pool or the beach. Now even in short pants would not make me see the world outside. You really have done justice to your body by taking a strict exercise regime.

Thank you Zandi but I'm hardly out there looking for any whistles. I do know how lucky I am though to be the exact same weight as I was when I was 20 but that comes with eating healthily and not overindulging. Apart from walking I hadn't done any exercise in years till I started with my doctor friend.

Exercise is not something everybody take seriously and we need motivation in order to really make it a must do thing daily like food to a hungry stomach.

Hi zandi, you are right that exercise is good for us. at one time it was a religiously evry day before doing anything now though I don't get the motivation to do that as am walking the dogs, going down the road and when cleaning etc I feel that is my exercise yet really it would be good to have a routing in the morning of exercising...loLo

Everyone seems to lose the will to exercise as the effect is something that we don't see immediately but should take it as a routine like eating to fill our hungry stomach. Leaving out exercise in our daily life will invite more problems to our health in future.

I agree with you that exercise is nonnegotiable, otherwise, very quickly you will find you are gaining weight, with weak legs, and heavy head. For our own sake, we must set a line with computer, and do some exercise, going around or shopping, house chores, etc.

Hi there and smile!. Yes i agree that its hard to maintain and woke up early for exercise. Sometimes we get tired and feel lazy to move our body. We just eat and spend times in front of computer and we dont care how many hours. We dont really sacrifice our 30 minutes just to have more physical activity that will contribute to our overall health and well-being. I am making it my habit to play the hip hop abs video and follow the dance steps there. I really like it and it makes me sweat a lot. Its so awesome after the exercise too. Happy mylotting and smile always!

I used to do nothing but SIT all day. I was often tired, sleepy, and somewhat depressed. After a counselor suggested walking as a means of stress relief/relaxation, I found that exercise even a little bit made me feel so much better. I have tried exercising 4 times a week and 5 times a week, but found that I could only go for a week before I was extremely worn out. The following week, I felt too tired to do anything! My doctor suggested 3 days a week, so I'm trying that now! I wish that I could get my husband to understand the benefits of losing weight, exercising, and being healthier. I worry about the long term effects of him being overweight with how stressed he is with his job. I feel like exercising would help alleviate some of that stress if he would just jump on the bandwagon and do it with me! We could even take family walks together with our daughter(she's 2)!! Thank you for the information!

Looks like you have been over indulging your exercise regime. I can only afford to walk on alternate days as I feel worn out if I walk everyday. But would not stop my indoor exercise like stretching just to get the muscle moving.

Hi jen, the problem with mylot is it is too addictive. We tend to forget exercising as it is too tiring compared to sitting comfortably in front of the computer.

i like to do yoga everyday,it take me about half of hour per day,i work at office and spend over ten hours in front of the computer. doing yoga is a good exercise for me,it strenth my body and reduce the work presure. doing yoga is very easy to take,it just need a small place to put a cushion and do some stretch actions, the key point is to insist to do without interruption.

Yeah,Thank you for the reminding. It is a good point.I told myself that I should take some kinds of exerises at least twice a week, although I am very busy now.I think the words like:"I am so busy now and I have no time to exercise" are just exuse for escaping it.We know that regular exercising is good to our health but some of us are just lazy to persist on it.

I do get to exercise every day because I walk a lot. But apart from walking, I don't do any other kind of exercise except when I really make time to exercise my whole body. If you see me you would know that I get exercise for my legs only because my legs are muscular but my arms are kind of flabby.

Walking is considered an aerobic exercise nearly on par with more strenuous activities such as jogging or ice skating. Regular walking prevents muscle atrophy and weakness, and keeps the joints from becoming stiff. It is good that you consider walking a exercise. It cost you nothing but have good benefits to the body.
