it's fairly easy to get support for movements protecting dolphins and seals but some of the most endangered sea animals are actually sharks. and one of the practices (cutting off the fins and tossing the animal back in the sea) is extremely cruel. so do you find it much easier to care about the cute ones or does it not make a difference?

Doesn't matter if its cute or not.. if its endangered then we should do all we can to preserve the animal.. You seem to have a lot of animal type discussion.. I recently was shown a video peta put out about the treatment of KFC's chickens and its disgusted me.. I dont eat fast food except on the occassion, but i think after that i wont be eating it again. that's cruel the way they treat those chickens...

chickens and pigs are two of the worst treated farm animals. and kfc (along with macdonalds) are pretty awful. yes i do a lot of animal discussions. the next 27 are based around the theme of 'what is your favourite kind of cat/dog//horse/mouse/ etc etc'.

Well to me a animal in need is one in need. i know your not actually talking about cats, but me and my hubby just took in 2 strays that needed a home one of which only has one eye. to me its a beautiful kitten and very lovable. They finally started getting along with my other cats and have become part of the family. we call her one eyed jackie lol. but no it shouldn't matter what the animal looks like or what it is if its in need of help i say give it some:)

I have a complaint. You don't start enough discussions.
No, an animal doesn't have to be cute. With the possible exception of fleas, which I see no earthly use for, all creatures are a valuable part of the ecosystem and if there's something humans are doing that is helping drive them into extinction, we are obligated to attempt to mitigate the situation.
