y hollywood movies based on books???

frnds....
i hav seen many hollywood movies including some world movies too..but the thng i hav noticed is "story based on a book or novel by some persons" n it was directed by some one else..y tis one happening??i guess sum movies wer original scripts..,the author who created the book has directed tat film..but tat one seems to be less..is der any original scripts made by hollywood directors??i wanna knw..

hollywood s a place where all de exprementation takes place so they have experimentated and they have the so called formula(but der s no formula to make a film success)so thay take films based on books.. and dey also make the necessary modifications so that it would suit the audience mentallity...May be the other language films fails in presentation i guess... but der cant b a definite answer for this since many hollywood films based on book were big flops too

actually its a different concept all together...according to me we should see film as an art.. if painting and book are art den cinema which s jus a higher form of painting and book is also an art .. but may not be the purest form of art,, but it is an art and we should take it as an art.....

I guess the book was a best seller or the book must be known by people. For most best sellers becoming movies, most of them are being murdered, take Harry Potter, in my case, they didn't stick properly to the book.... outrageous!

ya...i ll agree wit u....y tis one is happening....old directors lik alfred hitcock n sum of them had nt done lik tis...but y nw??dey simply want to mak movie without ne efforts in the script huh??actually if dey keeps any change in the scripts..,thn the film is a major flop..wats ur opinion abt tis??

The only ones that I can think of would be Steven King movies. A lot of his books became movies but he was the one that directed them.
