The yellowing of toenails is usually cause by a fungal infection that gets in under the nail and will cause continuous problems until cleared up. There are many over the counterproducts availiable for this specific problem in most pharmacies. The name that comes to mind first (that we sell int he store in which i work) is calle FungiCure. It is a lotion/cream that you apply daily to your toenails until the fungus clears up and the nails start growing back naturally. If you do a search online for "Yellow toenails" you will find a multitude of sites ith various home remedies that people claim work. I don't know much about the validity of many of these, but i have a friend who used the tea tree oil one, and it worked. Just buy a small bottle of tea tree oil and massage it daily into the cuticles and around your toenails. Tea tree oil is a natural antiseptic and will eventually kill off the fungus causing this yellowing.
Hope this helps!
