I for one would not ever let my children/teenagers have a credit card. Credit cards are something that can get a person in debt and ruin his or her credit for the rest of their lives. So the answer is NO a teenager should not have a credit card.

15 is too young to have one credit card! And first, why does he have to have one? If he has a normal debit card is it not better? I do not understand why he should have one!
I am totally disagree with that!

She might be responsible but her friends might not. If she goes out with them they might talk her into charging things to her credit card. There is no reason for her to NEED one. If she wants to hold a piece of plastic you guys can always get her a debit card.. some banks have them like cash cards, cant charge more than you have on it.

yes, a teen should have a credit card but the credit limit should be very less :) i think that's for their own benefit only, they can show off their credit cards to anyone and also buy something that they want. :) i am 19 and i have a credit card but the credit limit is much less than my dad's :)

what we did with our kids and did the prepay debit type card so they didnt have to carry cash but yet couldnt over charge things and run up a big bill. Maybe there is some good to a teen having a credit card to learn the art of financial responsiblity while still living at home and importance of building credit but for me its still just scary to be teaching our children that you can charge something if you dont have the money to pay. Maybe there should be a class thats mandatory for a teen to take if he or she wants a credit card this young.
