If you could personally change law, what would it be?

Personally I'm not sure what one I would change. I believe there should be better laws against stalkers and murderers. Maybe I would change the fact that anyone committing a violent offense against another shall not be awarded bail! What about you? What law would you change?

There are a few things I would do...
First I would make all violent crimes result in life in prison with no parole, or capital punishment, depending on the severity of the crime.
Second, I would make learning all the laws a mandatory part of high school, so that people can not claim ignorance.
I think that is about all, except of making it so girls can go topless if they want, just the same way guys can.
Cheers.

I think thats a good idea for high schoolers to learn the law and the results of disobeying the law. The topless thing I would think that alot of men would agree with ya there lol

I read and responded to your other discussion, Melissa, and I agree with you about changing the law when it comes to those charged with acts of violence. I've had the misfortune of being involved in a family member's problems with domestic violence and child abuse so, in addition to not awarding bail to anyone who is charged with a violent crime, I would like increased standards for protecting the victims of those crimes and arresting the abusers, followed by stiffer penalties.

Yeah it's ridiculous how many women have lost their lives that would have still been alive had it not been for this system. Women that have been in this situation should have all the protection they need from these abusers! No reason for it!

Mine would be this...violence against children would be an automatic life sentence. No parole.

Thats a good idea as well. Mine is from another discussion I started about a friend that passed. But that is definitely a good one!

I agree with all of the ones that have already been said, definitely would like to see stricter punishments on people who abuse children. The different one that I would like is there to be more punishment for people who hurt and abuse animals. The things that people do in the dog fighting world alone is just disgusting in my opinion, and I don't think that people like Michael Vick should be free only after a year or two. My cats mean the world to me, they certainly have helped me through tough times, they are helping me right now in life, to me they are like my little furry children and if anyone were to harm them, i would want some harsh punishment.

I can't say positively what law I would change, but one thing that truly bothers me is how lenient the law is on drunk drivers.

I agree here as well. I lost a friend to a drunk driver and the other driver got parole, thats it!. He was only 20 years old!!

well I would certainly wipe out a lot of people... especially the ones I don't like..
but one law I would change is all rapists should be hanged, shot, tortured and have their equipments cut off... I don't like rapists and thats one breed of people that don't deserve to breath the same air as normal people..
