I live in Canada and my University is paranoid over the H1N1 Influenza virus scare, are your schools afraid of the swine flu as well? We even have a little check box that asks us if we believe we have, or have come in contact with the virus on our student self serve website. I thought this flu strain had come and past. Tell me what you think, and is your school going nuts over the whole thing like mine is?

I'm not in school anymore, but I have friends with kids in college and all of them are worried sick. Where abouts is your school J00nior? I have relatives in Ontario (I'm from there) and I know my parents (who are in their 80's) are worried sick about this virus too. I hope you are taking care of yourself...............

Toronto. But I know St. Kitt's very well. Lovely city. I live in the Prairies now, but my oldest son lives in Toronto and I'll be there on Friday to visit with him.

I live in China, and the disease is more and more.In summer vacation, more and more students come back and bring H1N1 back. Then in fall,it increased rapidly. The main condition is in university, but not very serious in mine, just 6 and the people he contact should stay in dorm for 15 days in case they also have it.But we don't have similar things like yours.

I heard that in India they are very paranoid about it and if you show any signs of flu in the airport, maybe even a cough or a sneeze, they quarantine you for 9-15 days and then send you home or let you stay! One of my friends just went to India about two weeks ago.

We're watching out for it and children with a fever of 100 or more are automatically sent home for seven days. But honestly I think this is just another flu strain that we will have to build up an immunity to. They've rushed the vaccine and aren't sure it's even going to work so I can't see the need to panic. There isn't much we can do about it except keep our hands clean and follow basic hygiene rules.

I agree, proper hand-washing is necessary to keep the spread to a minimum. I was shocked when in restaurants, people aren't washing their hands after using the stall. If adults aren't washing their hands, how will kids learn to wash theirs? At young ages they are always touching each other and sharing so get them into the classroom bathroom and wash them up haha.

I think that no matter where you go every one is scared of the virus cause no body knows anything about it and it seems to be sweeping the world at a very fast pace. Every wheres you go there is hand sanitizer.

The Swine Flu definitely has not left yet. It is still going around, although it is not as widespread as it was. My school is making a pretty big deal out of it. They are trying to keep anyone who even MIGHT have it out of school, which is pretty hard because they don't want to seem like they're keeping kids away from learning! Other than that, no, they aren't doing too much. They brought it up, of course, but they aren't doing anything special to keep it from spreading.

I am at my school right now and noticing the increased number of posters reminding us to wash our hands, even though we are all adults haha. I guess the reminder does not hurt. There are also more purell bottles around randomly. I hate touching door handles, I'm a bit of a germ-a-phobe.

Two people in our school have it. I'm not sure that much is going to happen, they are already back and well. I may have already had it, some people can just get a minor cold.
