I agree with kosstr. A Japanese person spends spends time online as much as any person from a developed country. It can be that they prefer to be online on Japanese sites rather than English sites.
If you have any Japanese friends you might want to ask them.

I agree with kosstr12. Japanese websites don't even work in regular letters but have boxes or weird symbols, that I cannot read or interpret in any way. I think there are other languages similar to it and therefore I and many other persons spend little to no time at such sites that those native of that linguistics might frequent.

There are maybe 2 years since I last time paid a visit to myspace. So, is your turn: go see the number of people from countries using "different" writing style (as chinese, arbians, thai, phils and so on) and make a small calculation comparing number of active users from those countries and from Japan. ..

Hmmm, That's an interesting question. My guess would be that the average Japanese citizen spends roughly the same amount of time on the internet as the average American does. We just don't see them much, because they're most likely on Japanese websites. Which if you think about it, it makes sense, because I'm pretty sure not many Americans spend a lot of time on Japanese websites.

I would be 100% agree with you but I see at least 2 things which stands up to counter ..
chinese writing, thai writing, phils writing, isrlaelian writing, russian writting, arabian (including malai) writing .. all are not as this writing as we use in this posts ..
Yet check out the percentage of presence comparing with number of japanese ...
