much you have missed it? I decided to sew some basket liners for my craft sale this coming weekend and I hadn't sewed for a long time....and I totally enjoyed it again after years of not doing any. I thought I had totally lost interest. Have you ever quit doing some sort of craft then returned much later...like years later to find how much you missed doing it?

How did you know? Have you been hiding in my house? Many many years ago I covered hangers with yarn. My mother showed me a way to do this to keep the clothes on the hangers and not leave the annoying lumps on the shoulders. Decided to do this craft a couple of years ago. I also do this with my favorite plastic canvas crafts. Might get in the middle of making something and get bored. Put it down, start on another idea and eventually go back to the original craft I put down. Get these crazy ideas of a new project and like the challenge of trying something new.

Oh ALL the time!
This happens to me all thetime with crocheting....I tend to start a project in the fall/winter and work on it constantly...maybe even finish one or two, but then springcomes along, and it is too nice to sit inside and work on a project, or just plain to HOT in the summer to be sitting there, with a huge afghan spread across your lap while you crochet....but then come fall (about right now in fact) the urge htits me again, and i start up....maybe this fall i will actually finish the huge, quieen size bed cover i started on almost two years ago now...it has been sitting in a box waiting for me to pick it up again....

i know..right? LoL....that is why i have been workingon it for almost two years and it is only about half done! But it is really pretty, in red, black and silver....
I am SO not good at any special stitches.....really wish i was, or that i knew someone near by who could show me how to do them, as i cannot read a pattern or instructions and figure it out..i am more of a "show me and i'll get it" kind of person...so allof my projects are just plait double or double and a half stitch. And i generally use the varigated color yarn that kinf of creates its own pattern, as other than doing straight stripes, i can't figure out patterns LoL

I am not sure about craft. However I had a hobby of collecting coins. I don't pursue it with dedication. But whenever I see a new coin I remember about coin collection and I try to remember to collect coins with new design. I sometime go through the coins I have collected over the years.

Hi jill! Yes, this has happened to me many times. I've done so many different crafts over the years, and it seems like when I learn something new that's all I want to do for awhile. So it winds up that I don't do certain crafts for a long time. The most recent one that I've been doing after not having done for years is making toothbrush rugs. (I posted a picture since a lot of people aren't familiar with them.) My sister taught me how to make these about 15 years ago. In fact the one in the picture is the first one I ever made. Any that I made in the few years after that I gave to people. Recently I decided that I wanted another one of my own, so I've started making it, and wondering why I hadn't done more in all this time! It's a really fun craft, and after getting past the start of it it's very easy too. Another thing I haven't done for a long time that I've been thinking about doing again is quilting. Happy crafting and myLotting!

Ok, for some reason the picture didn't show up. You can do a search to find pictures of them. :)

I've found that since I started learning the pc, I haven't done near as many crafts as I once did. I enjoy quilting but I've all but put it away due to several ppl doing the whole "gimme" thing. Now I'm slowly getting back into my cross stitching...I have missed it and have been making time to get back to enjoying it.
[b]!!Happy Halloween!!

I did a lot of things in school that I wouldn't mind picking up and trying again, such as pottery. But I can't say I was ever really involved in a craft.

There is this blanket that I was crothing about 7 years ago and I found it when I was moving. I had ran out of yarn for it. As it is huge more for a queen bed. LOL well, I got the same yarn almost so now it will be two different colors. Will finish it this winter I hope. Then I found my embroidery for the pillow cases I was doing. Then there is the scarp booking as well. I go from one thing to the next. At least I'm busy. You have a great weekend. Your friend onlydia

This has happened to me several times in the past. My craft of choice is card making. The problem is I have to have the time to do it and be in the crafty mindset in order to get good ideas for cards. So what often happens is I won't make cards for several months! I just get too busy or I'm not "feeling crafty" when I do have free time. Typically then when I do sit down and do it again I realize how much I missed it! I do love card making, just wish I had more time to do it. I'd love to get into some other crafts too, but that of course would also require time!
Love your basket liners :-)

There are a few crafts that I have dabbled in and wished I would of stuck with but none really that I have done and put down and came back to. I have tried sewing, candle making, soap making, card making, and I am sure there are a few others that I am forgetting but I never stuck with any of them or did to well at any of them. The only thing I have really stuck with is crocheting and at that I only know the one basic stitch. I wish I was more "crafty" than I am and have so many ideas that I want to do but never get into it...I have great intentions but no motivation.
Your basket liners are very cute...do you use an elastic to secure them or just fit them with the basket?

i had been making fashion jewelry, mostly necklaces, earrings and bracelets. i had so much enthusiasm doing it in some 6 or 7 years ago because it was the fashion. i made a little money out of that hobby of mine as i sold them to office mates. now, it is slowly coming back (i see some ladies still wearing them although not many) and that has awakened my enthusiasm to wear my own designed fashion jewelry so that friends' interest and enthusiasm will also be triggered. i am now going back into making beautiful necklaces from the old materials that i still keep. i just enjoy looking at my finished products.
