That is my Grade 6 daughter's class adviser, so we are very sad about it. A co-teacher told us that on Wednesday, the faculty and staff held a simple party. There were singing, dancing, etc. The class adviser also danced with his group. The following day, my daughter told us that their class adviser was in the hospital. And school officials had told, it was due heart attack or something. On Saturday, we received the news, that he (the class adviser) already passed away. The cause of death, according to relatives, is still unknown or yet to confirm. Heart failure and nightmare are what they have suspected, but they said, doctors don't think about these. Laboratory results which will confirm the cause, relatives said, can't interpret by local doctors so it was sent to the capital (St. Luke's Hospital in Manila). One of the relatives also confirmed to us, that the teacher was a noisy breather, a loud snorer. So, it could, possibly, a case of Sleep Apnea. I will personally communicate with the relatives or even with the school officials regarding the cause of death, the medical findings. Why should I be concerned about this? It just so happen that my 2 year old son is a loud snorer, too. So I am worried about it. Does anyone you know in your family who is a loud snorer? Do you take snoring, loud snoring a big problem?

Hi Neil, How so sad for the teacher's family and friends, also the school, and I don't blame you from worrying about your little son, I hope he will get his treatments soon. My husband snorese very loud, always have done,he keeps waking me up when I am asleep, the only time I get some sleep is when he gets up in the morning, that is why I sleep till 1.00 in the afternoon. Hugs. Tamara

So do you it's best to do the operation by removing adenoids and tonsils? Don't you feel the diffulty in breathing in your sleeps anymore?

Well; this is very unfortunate . I have heard that a snoring while sleeping is actually a health problem .One ought to see a doctor for this . However;I believe that people do not take this too seriously. I have rarely met someone who has visited the doctor for this problem. So,we need to become more aware of getting this problem treated . Regards

for some people, snoring is normal, whether it's silent or loud. and snoring is just one factor or symptoms of sleep apnea, which is by the way, dangerous if not given proper medical attention.

There is a big difference between just loud snoring and sleep apnea. Loud snoring can be caused by many things, in my boyfriends case he has trouble with his sinuses. The danger with sleep apnea is that the sufferer stops breathing for a long periods of time. Being overweight is a major contributary factor to the condition, so i wouldn't worry about your son too much, unless he is also very tired in the day and falls asleep a lot, this is because sleep apnea disrupts sleep patterns, straightforward snoring does not.

At 2 years old, my son has no problem with his nasal airways. Although not over weight, he is hyper-active at daytime, one of sleep apneas symptoms. That's why will go for some test soon. I just hope there could be no operation doctors will recommend, because he is too young to undergo.
