My Dorm is very near to my office, I can ride a bike to go for work daily. One reson is to make my body more healthy and another one reason is enviroment friendsly. Nowdays the cost of the gasoline is getting higher and higher, and I can save a lot on that as well. LOL.
How about you? Is your workplace far from your office that you must drive a car instead? What vehicle you prefer to your office if you have choice? Are you getting frustated for the trafic jam if you happened to the rush hours?

I'm 4 miles away from work,so given the choice (and preferably dry weather!) I'll pedal in and out on my ebike..That gets me some exercise,a bit of fresh air,and I don't arrive in a puddle of sweat so that I'd need to shower again when I get there!

I do own a bike and use it going in to work..as it's an Ebike,I can cruise on the level with the electric motor, and only need to pedal on the hilly parts,so I don't arrive at work sweaty!

My office is quite far from my home so it's impossible for me to go there on foot. I used to go to work by bus and it usually took me nearly an hour. This journey is not very comfortable for I had to endure serious traffic jams. With the completion of subway project, I have chosen it as my priority. Though in the rush hour it's also very crowded inside the train, at least I could say "goodbye" to traffic jams. Now the journey only costs me less than half an hour, which means I could get up a little later.

Hi Simon,
Well, an hour journey to go for work daily is really tired, and I can feel the uncomfortable that traffice jams bring on you...But if the subway can apply, I am sure it will be much convenient for your communing daily. Maybe we can avert our attention to the lanpscape that overviewed or the different people we come accross.

I really don't have many options for getting to work. I have to drive my car. My job is about a 20 minute drive from my house. I can't imagine how long it would take me to walk all the way into town and then across town! lol I could pay for a bus pass but even with a bus pass, I would have to do a crazy amount of walking to my job because it's not on a bus route. So my best choice for getting to work is by car!

Yes, sometimes taking the bus is crazy if you need to transfer serveral bus pass and then amount of walking there and it may takes out of your expected time. Driving is still good if no trafic jams there. But sometimes when I got the rush hours or maybe a little accident in front, I prefer to walk out of the bus and walk to the destination.LOL...

It's either a bus or my own vehicle. I don't like bus. It's not reliable and not the best alternative. Besides, I am scared to ride one. I can only drive a car so there's no choice. My workplace is around 15 minutes drive from my home (depending the speed and weather) The cost of gasoline is high but my car doesn't consume much oil. I only spend around RM50 MYR a week (around $14 USD)

Hi Jen,
Thanks for your reponse to my discussion, I also think that seldom of us can afford the taxi fee to work daily.LOL, Most of us will prefer the bus to go to work if he doesn't have a car of his own or maybe take the metro if the subways apply. Hope you you can find your suitable job soon and have a lucky day.

I do not have much option to choose the vehicle for commuting. Driving is almost impossible when commuting in the new york city. The only option that I have is trains and then walk from the train station to my office.
So out of all the options I have to go to work I do prefer traveling in the train.

Hi Anirus,
Sometimes I prefer to walk to office when the whether is cool and it will make my feeling more soothing after taking the fresh there and sometimes I will ride a bike if I got up late, hehe~~I believe New York must be a very crowded city that the driving is almost impossible, but taking the train is also a good option. On every weekend, I will take the metro home and I really enjoy it. I like different people getting on and off and enoy their dressing style, it will be great.

Hi Sasalove, My Dormitory is close to my office. I go to work everytime by foot. It's great that I don't have to suffer from the crowded and the traffic jam. If I have to choose a vehicle to go to work, and I am rich enough, I would like to hire a car to drive me. It's really terrible to rush for the buses after the whold day hard working, and buses are so crowded, you are hardly to get a seat.

Currently I'm unemployed so there's not much bearing on how I go to work but I'd definitely prefer walking to work but that all depends on how far the workplace is. If my job is paying quite well, I'd rather go for a nice Suzuki Samurai, Ducati or Aprilla. In other words, a motorbike. It's because I prefer being alone most times, a lone rider of sorts, and it's also very convenient for weaving in and out of traffic jams. But if we're talking about eco- and budget-friendly transpo, obviously I'll go for a mountain or racer bike. Also good for traffic weaving PLUS it's very mobile, you could carry it if you reach places where you can't go on wheels. The downside of it is that you've got to have a separate set of clothes, one for going to and coming home from work, and one for work. You wouldn't want to stink of sweat in the workplace. Ha ha.

in my country, Indonesia especially in Jakarta, it's better for you to go by motor cycle. the traffic jam is awful :(
