Just When Are The Authorities Going To Wake Up And End This?

Another plane has crash landed, due to a landing gear failure?
Hydraulics or Erroneous Cross Wiring? Isn't this being addressed and not allowed to see another day?
Fortunately, there wasn't any fatality this time, but I have to agree with the words from leader of Germany's Social Democrat party, Franz Muentefering, who was among the passengers of this eventful flight: 'Once in a lifetime is enough for something like this.'
I hope that the authorities and airlines will have and make the extra effort of making these incidents from happening.

I think there needs to be stricter saftey standards for airplanes too. I flew twice last year and each time i said it was going to be my last! I hate flying because you dont know how safe they are.

good2go2001,
I am sure of the presence of strict safety standards for all parties, but I am just wondering how these are being ensured and met by both the aircraft manufacturers and airline companies.
Who is ensuring that there is no recycled parts being used in the maintenance? Who is overseeing that the cross wiring does not happen when there is an overhaul and reassembling procedure? Who is responsible for ensuring that there is no un-certified aircraft flying in the airspace?
With the aggressive price war going on, I wonder if there is anything left for good quality maintenance services and parts at the end of the day!
I hate to wonder at the negative end, but at the rate of what had happened, I just cannot help it.

There have been some horrible accounts of scary flying experiences and crash landings. I think many planes are flying and they are not safe enough. There have been two air crashes this year and they have been good quality airlines. Indeed once in a lifetime is enough for an experience like those poor passengers had to suffer. I will still fly because traveling is my top hobby.

maximax8,
Well, I have to travel to make a living so you can see how anxious I can be when I hear news like these. And it is happening a few times too many for my comfort.
So, where do you think the system had gone wrong on these ones here?
FAA, Airlines, Aircraft Engineering or Aircraft Manufacturers? It sure beats me now.

that is so sad about the terrible plane crash. they should at least make double inspections on these kinds of planes before taking off. just a reminder our boats here in my country kept sinking and because of lack of important inspections.
