The character of a true friend

How will you know if your friend is really a true one? what certain characteristic should he/she possess?

Its the perspective in which you can say a friend is a true friend.One thing is loyalty ofcourse I cannot say loyalty because loyalty is something a worker shows to his boss.In relation u can call it trust.. If your friend creates that confidence in you that you can trust him and he keeps to it then he is a true friend.
A true friend do not support you in the same way if you do a good thing and a badthing.He would definitely tries to stop you if you are going in a wrong path or doing something wrong.He should be very supportive to you ofcourse in a constructive way..Ofcourse there are many other aspects but I think these are the important ones

thanks...i also believe that trust is a very important factor in friendship... sometimes or should i say most of the times these is the most complicated issue in friendship... keeping the trust of someone is a very hard thing but if in your heart you carry the true character of a good friend i think in whatever situation you can definitely prove that you had been a good friend...

In my mind ,it is no matter if a true friend is rich or poor in fortune but it is importance to be rich in his/her mind .And the most importand character for a true friend is to be honest .A really true friend will point out ur mistake and then dircte you to correct it .
