When will you start your christmas shopping?

I figured that next month I will begin doing some christmas shopping. Money is tight right now so I figured that it is going to get any better that I should start picking up things here and there for my daughter. Thank goodness I have a great hiding space, because my daughter is really good at finding things. Lol. I do my main shopping on black friday. Last year I got everything I wanted to get my daughter for a hundred and fifty dollars. When I had, had all the stuff on layaway it was about three hundred for the same things, so I defiantly saved. This year though in order to get everything I need to buy a little at a time. So when will you start your christmas shopping? Do you get everything at once or get a little bit along the way? Do you budget out your christmas?

I will start my christmas shopping when my exams are completed.I do the shopping all at once but the problem is that since we go before christmas i just choose which color strikes my eye.We have enough time this time to buy.I have already selected the best brands for my shirt.I also plan to buy a pair of new sports shoes and sandals as i do not get time to buy them.

Mine's already done. Has been for a month or so. You see, I do mine throughout the year, because it's easier, there's no stress & that means I can enjoy the Season, focusing on what it's really all about, plus it's less expensive, When I see a thing I know so-& so would like, I get it then & store it. This also avoids the problem of waiting, only to discover it's not on the market later on. I know, I know, people hate me.... Maggiepie "WHERE'S THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE?"

I already started. I bought a few stocking stuffers last month and I bought a few gifts off eBay and got them this past week. I normally get things a little at a time when I have the money.

uh, the day before Christmas??? LOLOL I always leave it until the last minute. I am a terrible shopper - I just hate to do it, and of course at the holidays it is just horrible. It has helped that I can go online and shop the last few years. So I do get done sooner that way now. We have many birthdays and anniversaries in my immediate family that are in November, so that also puts me behind every year. Ah well.

I already started buying gifts whenever I have the chance to bump at sales or discount stores. The times are tough right now so I really need to budget so I can give everyone a present this Christmas. I am thinking or personalizing my gifts instead of buying expensive things. I know of a site http://www.gifti.us I think it would be helpful to you too.

i have started to look at things on display in the department store where we go to buy grocery every week. they have these usually fair-priced items from china towards the christmas season. i notice that there are a few yet on display and i think i have to hold my christmas shopping when the display is on abundance. i like this department store because of their wide variety of cheaper items which i can give out to friends, too.

I plan to do my Christmas shopping online, since my only source of income right now comes from the internet. This will also eliminate (I hope) the hassles of getting gifts shipped since most of my relatives live abroad. I used to send them emails saying "Merry Christmas" :P but I figured that this year I will send them small gifts. Also it is plain hell to go to the malls during the Holiday season, so I prefer to do my shopping at small flea markets.

I have a few things already. If I see something I think will make a good gift, I go ahead and buy it, and save it for Christmas.

My husband do not get his Christmas bonus until the week before Christmas so I will not start until then. With the economy not being very good can not afford to start any sooner.

It seems like our Xmas shopping starts the day after Xmas day. It's almost like a year long event where items are picked up and the remark is that it would a good Xmas present for so and so. Last weekend we drove to our closest city and some Xmas shopping was done. My wife proudly announced that the bulk of our list is now covered. Just lint in my pockets now.

I've already started looking for things and noteing down ideas of gifts for people, but I won't start shopping until the beginning of November. Theer are so many bargains to be had right before Christmas that i think you miss out if you start too early.

Hi tlb! It really depends when I have the money, lol. But I usually would like to do it earlier than December because by then most of the items would be somehow more expensive because of the peak season. Also, I hate the Christmas Rush as I'm not used to shopping with so many people around (it kinda makes me confuse and disoriented) and standing up in line for so long. Yes, I do budget out my Christmas so that I can really choose the best gift for my friends and loved ones. My only problem though is the tight budget this year because of financial crisis :D I do hope that I can pool more resources before the Holiday rush begins :)

I have to buy a little something each month or else I won't be able to get presents for my family. I don't have much money and with the California budget cuts, they deducted almost $60 out of my already small check so, little shopping here and there and looking for good deals is what I have to do. It will work I believe and we will have a good Christmas no matter what!

Well, we haven't started it yet, which is late for us. But I have known us to buy Xmas presents in mid-summer when on vacation. My wife or I would see a present that would suit a particular family member and buy it there and then in August or even earlier than that. We would then put it away until Xmas got nearer. There's another thing about shopping in this way and that is that Xmas doesn't seem to be so expensive then. - Derek

How nice it would be to do an early christmas shopping...i enjoy very much wrapping gifts. However times are not that good these days. If there is extra money then maybe i can do an early christmas shopping. I try to buy gifts for friends and families all at once. Our comapny usually gives our bonus a little late so i always end up giving my christmas gift late. Better late than never i say.
