Hello,
I am getting married soon and my mom and I are going to try to make a Double Wedding Rings quilt. The patterns are really hard to find and most of them are really complicated. ...one of mom's friends said 'friends don't let friends sew circles'...
Is there a pattern that is not too complicated? We are experienced sewers, but quilting can get pretty tricky and we've never done many curves. Do you have any suggestions?
Thanks!

THe one I love but it's not nessarcy for a wedding. My my mom made the quilt and it didn't take much time and it was rather easy to make. I believe it's called the Lincoln Logs... or log something. It's rather simple but stunning. It's a type of quilt that you just cut a bunch of rectangles maybe it's called strip quilting.
It's really easy to make and it doesn't take much time. So I hope you get to make it. And the best part is making it with your Mom. Somethign you'll never forget.

I must agree, the wedding ring quilt is beautiful but very time consuming and many small pieces. Maybe you could make one as an anniversary quilt. That would give you more time. As for choosing a pattern, I personally like the tumbling blocks. For a nice selection of free patterns, go to the library. They usually have numerous books on quilting and the books have pictures, instructions, and templates for each quilt. You can easily copy the instructions and templates for the quilt you want either on a copier/printer at home or the library's should have one you can use for a cost per page copied. Then you only need to purchase the actual quilt supplies.

Thanks crochetkid! The library is a great idea! I will check it out! I found a pattern the other day that was a modern adaption that seems easier because the arcs are made with one color strip instead of being pieced, but it's just not quite as charming as the traditional patterns. I guess I'm either going to have to work on this for a long time or change what I want. Too bad I'm so picky, lol.
Thanks again!
