How does MyLot work?

Hi Jennifer and firstly welcome to mylot. Your in exactly the right place if you want to make new friends, discuss issues and earn a little extra money along the way too. I have been using this site over a year now although have only recently got back into it. I find it's the kind of site you can easily lose time to but well worth it if your doing it as a hobby. Ok well first the basics once a member here you can post discussions and respond to them as well as adding comments to users responses as well. Each time you participate in any of these things you can earn money from it which you will see added to your account balance which you can see at the top of the screen. Being that your a new user it may take a little over 24 hours for your first earnings to be shown but don't panic it will get added. It's best not to ask to much in terms of how you earn here my only real advice in this is to keep as active as possible and try not to breach any rules or regulations so it might be worth looking through the FAQ's before you really get into the site. Any breach may result in a discussion being deleted and in turn this then takes your earnings with it so don't be alarmed if your earnings do fluctuate from time to time it's probably just discussions you've responded to which have been deleted through no fault of your own. A sure fire way of gettin a discussion deleted here though is to post referral links so whenever I see one of those I steer well clear. In terms of the page you may notice you have a number against your user name. This number refers to the numbers of posts you have made on other peoples discussions. You may also notice some people have stars next to their username. I currently have a red star with a nine in which refers to how helpful other users find your responses. If you hover your cursor over the star your see a figure out of 100 this determines which star your awarded. You first gain your star when you have posted 100 responses on the site it is then up to you to post high quality responses ton enable your star rating to go up. If you look to the right of a users response your see a plus and minus sign. Its up to the other users on this site to rate you if you've been helpful or not. After you have posted 200 posts you are then given the opportunity to use smilies... which I always find make my posts look far more attractive and convey how i'm feeling a lot easier. After 500 posts you can use the copy and paste facility. You can also earn money here through uploading pictures or completing tasks on the task tab. Well, everyone is correct in their responses, but I would like to add that I've been active since Oct or Nov '08, and I have to say this is probably one of the warmest social networking sites I've been in! Now, maybe it's because of the money aspect, or maybe because it doesn't look like the average boring forum or maybe because of both! With almost 200,000 members across the globe, you're going to come across a few as.holes, it's inevitable. But of course, the sweet people totally out weighs the negative nitwits that seem to linger along. But, either way it goes, it's top 5 for sure, but the fact that the site actually pays and offer other benefits like tasks can easily pump it to number one sooner than later!! Now, while I'm on that, all you have do here is the same thing you do anywhere else, start and participate in discussions! Obviously, the more you do, the more you make! Please, don't become one of those people who start simple question discussions, they're so nerve wrecking and brainless, they shouldn't even be allowed! Also, if someone responds and comments to your discussions, DO NOT say thanx for your response, that's even worse than the short dumb discussion post!All discussions should be just that, discussions! Also, tasks are available to complete for payment posted by members here! I'm always posting tasks to complete and I also complete tasks! I have already added you as a friend so my hope is you will accept me. Also I want to let you know a few things about mylot so you dont get in trouble being here. First do not place any referal links in any posts even if they are your discussions. It can get your account deleted! I am being honest with you because I did not read the TOS of mylot and learned from other mylotters. Here are a few tips as well that might help you earn more! Refer others to the site that is one way. Another way is by responding with at least three lines or more. Like I say shoot for a full paragraph that way you are really enjoying and becoming a part of the discussion rather than just saying a few words. It seems like you are doing well so far and again I look foward to becoming your friend here on mylot as well as email if you would like. Hi jterrock! Welcome to Mylot! I am also new here. I just started last night. I believe I am only 12hrs ahead on you. Yes its a bit confusing at first. You just have to familirize yourself on the site, look for topics that interest you and participate. Its fun and you will not notice that your are seating and typing in front of your computer for hours. I joined Mylot for money thing also.. but now I can say that I am enjoying my stay here. They say your will be credited for a good respond. Your respond must be good. It should not be 1 liner or 2 liners. Some says the better your respond the bigger money you will receive. Their payout minimum is $10. Once you reached that you can now ask for paypal payment. You need to check also the do's and donts on posting and responding to discissions. Just start by commenting and responding to topics. Take your time and enjoy. You are free to post new topics as well. Just say your thoughts. Say anything under the sun.. This site is really cool. First of all, welcome to mylot. This is a great forum posting site and basically we are paid bits of incentives for our participation but the algorithm, no one knows and it's best not to figure out. Just go day by day answering friends discussions, commenting (you can enable notification on preferences tab for this) and at the same time, create discussions like you have did for this one. That's the whole process; very easy to navigate around and I've been here for quite some time and still loving it.
