So, when usually is the best month, or the best time for you to prepare, or set up the decoration for Christmas? Now it is probably too early to talk about Christmas holiday, but it is in the Mid - September already, we got three months to go. For the light decoration, inside and outside of your house, when will be the best month? Or when do you usually go for shopping for the Christmas decorations?

My country, the Philippines, is known for celebrating the longest Christmas in the whole world (that's what other people say :) ). We start preparing for CHristmas when the "-BER" months start which is September and keep the decorations until Three Kings on the first week of January. It's really cool because you get to use and enjoy the decorations you bought for a very long time and you don't need to be in a hurry buying and packing gifts. Preparing for the occasion very early on is lessening the hassle and stress of having to set up everything right before Christmas eve. Decorations and gifts are still very reasonable in price if you shop early. At least when the Christmas week comes (or December maybe), you would just have to worry about the food and more gifts (for those you may have forgotten). It's also cool to be able to walk on the streets at night for more than four months with the Christmas breeze and the CHristmas spirit very alive. having the kind of spirit present everywhere for most of the year gives the people the possitive vibe and induces giving and sharing. Merry CHristmas everyone!

Since im in the Philippines September is the best time to set up for Christmas and this continues until February of the next year, it's like a tradition for all of us maybe not for some but it's great to see those light glowing at night, and it's always good to see people smile especially kids when they those lights shining and glowing well for the decorations our family used the past decorations to save money. Think about it.

I am also practicing the same plan as well, using old decors. I think it is just prudent on our side to keep them safely and use them the following year. We are now in Global Crisis that is why we better manage our finances well. We need to use our old decors and display them at home.

Well we have several boxes of Christmas decorations that we take out every year. So we don't really go shopping every year for new ones, although sometimes we might need to buy more lights to replace broken ones, but we always put up our lights and our tree and decorate it the day after Thanksgiving. It is a nice day because my husband does not have to work so we have all day to get it done, and then we have some left over turkey and stuff.

pretty nice, and I love to do it after Thanksgiving too. Sometimes, I just too lazy to do so, but I would spare some time to put up some decoration decors too.

I don't think it is too early to start doing a little planning. Leaving planning until the last minute can often be really stressful and we can all end up spending way too much money without meaning to. To decorate the lights and such I think that end of November is an appropriate time, so really the decoration shopping does not need to be done before then.

I usually wait unitl the end of the November too, and I don't do shopping until the beginning of December, or even later. Instead shop on the store, I would rather go to websites do my online shopping.

As per usual, my mother sets up the christmas tree and decorations the night of or the night after Thanksgiving. I enjoy christmas, but its not the same as it used to be... but all the lights on some peoples house can look so nice... which is one of my favorite parts just to ride or walk along looking at each different house that is decorated for christmas.

wow, you already started. Won't it be too early? I meant it just the Mid - September, not close to December yet. For me, I need to have more money before I could go on shopping.

so, would you purchase new decorating decors this year, like the christmas string lights on your roof, or the lights for the christmas tree? Or would you use the old one you spared from last year?

When it comes to Christmas I'm a humbug! I don't decorate and have not for years! There is no point! No one ever comes over to visit me over the holidays! So why bother decorating? I don't like decorating over the holidays because I have lost the Christmas spirit! I lost it a long time ago! So I pretty much dread Christmas! If I hadn't had so many lousey Christmas's growing up I wouldn't feel this way!

We usually do the same routine every year if it is possible. Outside lights go up on a nice day near the end of November. Inside decorations go up first week in December. If it's a real tree it goes up a few days before Xmas day. Artificial tree goes up any time. All comes down the day after New Year's day.
Merry Xmas MyLot friends.

I normally start preparing, or adorning the house with Christmas decors when the month starts ending in BER. But then in the recent years , I do noticed that it easily accumulates dirt. Of course , when you display them , they get exposed to dust. Now, I try to prepare 2nd half of November.

Hey clorissa..How are you today?
Oh I know that it is getting to be that time of year for all of us. Christmas I dearly love but I hate the shopping that goes along with that. I ususally start setting up around Thanksgiving.. That way I try to have it all done by the 1st of Dec.

Thank you, I am very good today. I just want to know if you go on shopping, would you shop for the new Christmas string lights for decoration? Have you thought about buying those LED lights that would save your electricity bills? Since you might turn it on most of the time until the Christmas is ended.

We've always done our outside Christmas decorating nearer the beginning of November. However, the actual yard decorations that go out in the yard don't go up until the week of Thanksgiving. As far as the Christmas tree and the things inside the house, we always put those up the week after Thanksgiving. It's been a family tradition to do it that way and have hot chocolate and a few cookies while we are doing it. We are a huge Christmas family and this just gives us one more reason to all get together during the Christmas season.

The traditional time to put up christmas decorations, at least outside that is, is the day after Thanksgiving. But I think you should put them up whenever it makes you happy!

The best possible time to start would probably be sometime around late October, early Novemeber, I guess. September is way to early, unless u have nothing better to do. And by mid Novemeber, ur already gearing up for Thanksgiving.
Me, myself... I'm ALWAYS late! Always! I don't start Christmas shopping till maybe 2 weeks before which is really bad. I just get so busy and I HATE CHRISTMAS SHOPPING! It's such a headache!I can't stand Christmas... I mean, I love what the true meaning is, but people have lost site of that.

It is not too early to start making things, as some projects take time. However, I do not buy any Christmas things until at least December and actually usually buy after the holiday when it goes on sale and then have the stuff for next year. I do not do the actual decorating until at least Thanksgiving has passed.

Sorry Clorissa. I should have checked first as I just posted a similar discussion. But to answer your questions - I'm thinking now and have the cards already! The decorations are in store and my mind is turning to present buying. I shall leave the food until the day before though!

hi clorissa,
since i got married and have kids, i started putting on the christmas decor right after my birthday (3rd september)... i want to make our home so festive in preparation for jesus' birthday, the christmas celebration.
i started with putting up the christmas tree, then every pay day i buy some stuff to add on to my "hangs". every year i have motif for chirstmas. from red and gold, red and silver, to gold and silver. i involved all the members of the family to take part in decorating and gift wrapping.
advance merry christmas my dear!

Hi clorissa123
Christmas is coming up so fast isn't it? Since I'm a student and my money is usually stretched to the limit I start shopping as soon as possible. I plan to begin my shopping this weekend hopefully. As far as decorations go my family usually puts ours up just after Thanksgiving and we keep them up until the day before New Years Eve.
