Hello mylotters, I sometimes experience it. I worried so much every time I would have constipation. I have a regular bowel disposal everyday but when this constipation strikes it makes me feel uncomfortable. I don't like taking synthetic medicines prescribed by the doctors...
May I know how you manage this aside from taking synthetic medicine?
Please share...

I had that problem last month or about three days. My husband does the cooking in our household, so I asked him what to eat for constipation. He made me some salads, and other things with lots of vegetables. Prune juice and plums are good for constipation, but we could not find any at the market, so he made me salads with lots of lettuce, and other dark green vegetables, and whatever else we had, that went well in a salad.

Hello Mobhomeir,
I have encounter this problem before. You can try a few steps to ease the constipation and be careful on what you eat.
1. take more fluids , soy beans, fruits juice and prune juice, avoid coffee.
2. Eat more vegetables and fiber food.
Hope this help!

I have done the Master Cleanse several times to help with regularity and cleaning out the insides. This is an amazing experience but not for everyone. There is a part for the cleanse of doing a salt water wash. You drink saltwater pretty fast and it works like a charm. Within minutes the bowels are moving again. Good Luck!

I don't often have problems with contipation, but I find that drinking a Diet coke will get things moving pretty quick if i need the help .Also for some reason, going shopping in bookstores always makes me need to go to the bathroom (#2) --i find myself having to find a place to put my stash of books i,m planning to buy and run off to the restroom before comming back to finish shopping .I guess it has something to do with the bodily movement of walking around stimulating the bowls. But why does it always happen to me in bookstores? (May be beause thats where i do most of my walking around ...) I've noticed with my dog too.that when i take her for a walk ,it takes a while of walking before she needs to do her thing .So i do think there is some connection between excercise and regularity.
Eating lots of fiber is also supposed to be good for keeping your plubing working smoothly.Prunes are the stereotypical food that older people use to help keep them from being constipted. My parents have 3-4 of them a day, usually chopped up on their bowl of cereal.I love prunes,so if i had an issuue with constipation, that would be what i'd gravitate towards. However i think my Diet Coke habbit does the trick for me for now.
I hope this responce work.

I was told by a doctor I went to not to worry if I did not have a bowel movement everyday because sometimes it just wouldn't happen.
I agree that is does feel comfortable, but I just make sure I eat a good diet of fruit and vegetables (plenty of them, more than protein like meat or fish). I eat vegetables more or less raw and only sometimes, cook them lightly. These days I rarely get any stomach problems like I used to have. - Derek

I have some problems and there are two things that help me a lot. One is corn. I boil corn kernels and make a salad with that. The otther new thing is Activia. It´s a new yogourt. I´m taking it but I vote for corn.
Take care!

Hello Martin,
If you are not having ulcers, you can start with a glass of water upon waking up.Then, eat slices of pineapple or papaya, this helps with digestive system to move bowel.
As we grow older,we need to eat fruits and vegetables(eat raw veggies if possible)coz, these foods had natural enzymes that can be digested easily and won't stuck in our intestines for a long period of time.
Commercial medicines will only give us temporary relief but also leaves a side effects,so better take natural foods like fruits. But choose fruits that are fiber rich like pineapple, papaya, oranges and mango. In addition to eating fruits,do not eat jackfruit and mango together coz it is not a good combinatin. Also watermelon and buko not a good combination too.
Have a good day amigo

i also experience being constipated always.the secret how to avoid it first is drink at 12 glasses of water everyday it is ok if you also drink some other fluids it also helps to not be constipate.another thing is that when you ate fruits you need to drink water as well because if you just ate fruits without water you will also get constipated.third is you need to move, walking is also helpful.fourth is you need to have time or specific schedule for bowel either done it in the morning or what you prefer.and the last resort is to take some dulcolax tablet or suppository if still constipated.then if still constipated now that is the time to seek a physician might there is more problem why you constipated maybe it blocked your bowel called bowel impaction or some strictures,polyps.etc..
