With all the redecorating the networks have done half of the shows I want to watch landed on Thursday night. Bones and Flash Forward are on at the same time, and I can record one and watch the other but then after that is Grey's Anatomy, Fringe and CSI! I only have two channels on the DVR so now what do I do?! (And....Heroes and House are now on at the same time...on Mondays)
Have any of you run into this with the new Fall schedules?

Yes, I have....my favorite shows have been moved around and some are in conflict with other favorite or new shows....
The Mentalist was moved to Thursday and is in conflict with Private Practice.
Lie To Me was moved from Wednesday night to Monday night, same time as the new show Trauma.
Smallville was moved from Thursday night to Friday night....at the same time as Ghost Whisperer.
I think that is all the ones that I like and were moved....have to figure out what to do when they premier...I guess either tape them or go back and forth between the shows. Sighs......

WOW Smallville has been on Thursday nights for like 7 years (pretty incredible it's been on that long huh?). Wonder why they decided to move it now.

I was just mapping out my fall TV schedule also. My DVR records 2 and I would have to watch the 3rd live. ABC does have their shows online. I know CBS usually has many shows on on demand. WB has been repeating. I think NBC my also have online, but not sure. If nothing else works, I might just have to flip between 2 shows.

CBS has some shows online too and CSI is one of them. I have watched a couple of shows online but I don't feel like I pay attention to them as well that way. *shrug* Just a product of my ADD.

I was reading a blog yesterday about how the lady in question was majorly annoyed by the Thursday night schedule. Apparently she does the blog for a living. She's supposed to watch shows, and then do a blog about it for the website. She couldn't figure out how she was going to juggle Fringe, Grey's Anatomy, Supernatural, The Office, The Vampire Diaries, CSI, and The Mentalist all in one night. She said she has a DVR, but even though she can record one and watch another, it still leaves her short one TV show she needs to be watching in a particular time period.
I don't have a DVR, so I've really tried to sit down and watch the shows as they air live. Sometimes I just am not in the mood for a certain show, you know? Now if I could record it, and watch it later...The good thing is that some of these shows are available to watch online. Like Flash Forward. ABC usually has their shows available to watch on their site after they initially air. That might make things easier for you. That isn't on my fall list of must see TV show, but not because it doesn't look interesting. But because it looks like it would make me too nervous!
Thursday nights are the nights I will have to figure something out too. The other nights I really don't have too mancy shows I like (I do love House). And when it comes to shows like Top Chef or Project Runway, those networks repeat those episodes a couple of times during the following week. So it is easy to catch up on those.
I have a question for you. I want to get my sister a TV series for Christmas that she hasn't seen. She loved The X-Files, and she also likes show like CSI, Bones...Would you say getting her the first season of Fringe would be something she would enjoy as much as the shows I just mentioned?

I think Flash Forward looks like it could either be really confusing or really boring. But it does have some really good actors (Joseph Fiennes and Dominic Monaghan for two) so it should be pretty good.
I think that being a fan of the X-Files means she would either love or hate Fringe. I am a huge X-Files geek and I really got into Fringe when I started watching it. If she likes creative (here, "creative" means odd) characters, there is one on Fringe that is way over the top. His name is Walter and he's kind of a mad scientist, for lack of a better description. He's my favorite character on the show. It was actually because of Walter that I started watching the show.

In response about Flash Forward...I think this show will be interesting and entertaining....I can't wait to see it when it premiers....at least it is not on the same time as Smallville...which has been moved....to Friday...sighs....
Oh, so many good shows...

They are always doing those things trying to get better ratings by putting good shows against good and what happens is that eventually a good loses out and goes off the air when shouldn't have and one of networks ends up having to keep trying new shows over and over that don't get the ratings that the show had before it was moved. Also, even when recording one show when is there a chance to watch it? Skip the news and stay up late.

I'm actually a Real Housewives & Project Runway fan so Thursday is pretty good for me. If those 2 shows weren't on I don't know what I would watch. Maybe I would read until Jay Leno. LOL
