I have the habit of developing photos in studio still, especially for my son's photo. I kept hundreds of photos, I like to watch them every now and then, and when there is friend comes, we would enjoy the photos took years ago, recalling the happiness and funny thing in the past. The oldest photo I kept is my family photo which is taken when I was 3. Do you keep the old photos? Which photo you like the most? Do you still develop your photos, or you just keep it in your computer/DVD?

I used to develop photos in studios about 3-4 years back but since advanced digital cameras and computers have come out. After taking pictures I just upload them on my laptop. However I still have kept my old pictures the oldest being ones of me when I just came home from the hospital as a baby. That's like over 20 years old!

Hello Sybraton!
Glad to hear that you still have a photo of yourself where you were just born. I don't have any new born photo of myself, ! My mom told me back to 20 30 years ago camera was very expensive and we came from a middle class family so we did not own a camera.
I only have a few of kids photo of my own. So I would suggest parents develope photo and keep nicely in the album so everyone can share the album and get the sweet memory!

I do not have newly born photo of myself either. At that days, we did not have our own camera, we went to studio to take it, and usually in the new year or other big event, our family often went together for some family photos. After having our own camera, we took it casually, now I still feel the old photos keeps more of my memory.

I develop "selected" photos.
I love photography and I spend time photoshopping every now and then and when I stumble across some of my work that I actually like, I print it out and frame it; especially stolen shots of family members and my pets.

I rarely take a picture. I think I'm too fat that it's too worst to see me in picture.I have some picture when I were child. At that time, I'm not as fat as right now. I see these pictures and I think me very funny. And now I have one time to take picture in studio, I see and think it's more fun than old ones. So I think it's the best way for me that I shouldn't take a picture anymore.

Hello, Pooh, it's true that someone on photo looks not as good as he/she is. In my mind, beauty is from inner, and confidence makes us even more beautiful. Have a nice day and happy mylotting to you.

I've recently realised that pictures saved in your PC or DVD don't posses the same thoughts and feelings as the ones that we preserve in albums.
Few days ago I wanted to gift something special for my girl friend for our anniversary. I thought of a lot of things but all of them were materialistic and i wanted to give her something special which she can remember.
I was shopping in a gift shop and that is when I cam across this book "Our Love Story" in which you can post pictures of you and your partner taken at every occassion and can jolt down your thoughts and experiences.
The very idea of doing it gave me a vibe. Imagine reading the book years after, something which you will always look into.
That is how much photographs can speak.
And i store all my old pictures. The picture I like the most is my own picture taken when I was 6 months old :D

I don't develop my own photos and I don't think I ever will. In fact, I feel so lousy whenever uploading my personal photos online since this girl I respect the utmost is so good at developing her own. Then again I don't think I really want to learn either, I've tried and it's not for me...I just wish I was born with the interest to become good at this, you know :) Until then I'll just feel low about it ;\

Hello, Eisenherz, I do not like putting photos online either. If I do, I will set a password, so only my friends can access it. On the other hand, I like to collect lots of photos in my album. Have a nice day!

Its still good if your photo are develop from studio, but with the advent of the cheap digicam and photo printer, its common things to see now a days a "printed photo" at first they doesn't have any differences, but time will come you'll notice that the printed photo are fading. I usually print photo taken by me, but if I really like I have it laminated so it will last long. The best thing about digital copy it never loss its quality even for a long time. But you have to save it in a realiable media or create more copy.

Hi Dhugoi, Thanks for your response. I guess developping photos is still the way I like, I would choose the photos I like the most and take the CD to studio for developping, I would also laminate them to have them last longer. We enjoy the photos in Album better than on computer, though it do cost more. Have a nice day and happy mylotting.

We have a huge pile of old photo albums from my childhood and my wifes right through to when our kids were small. There are albums just full of our kids when they were babies as we went a bit crazy with the photos there for a few years!
But then the latest photo album just stops....
This of course was when we first bought a digital camera and now those photos are stored in folders on our computers and unfortunately they do not get looked at very often!
We have printed some of these over time which we have framed, but there are loads still sitting there just waiting for us to view them! We must get around to buying a digital photo frame, so that we can look at these photos more easily!

Hi Karen, :) My mom gave me a digicam as a gift as a birthday gift. But even before that, my love on taking pictures and being on the picture is already there. I love taking pictures on all of the events of my life. I keep old pictures of course because it makes you reminisce on memories. My favorite photo is our family picture. I was a kiddo back then and not able to remeber the exact moments, but the picture shows that we are still "family", if you know what i mean. As of now, my pictures are saved in my computer but i have plans of developing them someday when i got resources :)

No, when I took a photography class, my teacher insisted that we all go digital, because was safer and cheaper. You still use the dark room to develop photos right?

Hello, Frozenimage, I know little about photography, I am not sure if they use the dark room to develop photos. I use the digital camera too, but instead of printing out, I send to studio and they develop them for me. Thanks for your response and have a nice day.

hi karen,
With the advancement of the technology espicially in the computers and digital world, taking pictures have become so easy and so cheap too. Apart from the hardware costs of camera and computer there is no cost but in the older film type , it costs to buy a camera and film but also we have to pay for the development and priniting. Also if you dont like any shot you can delete it but in film type that shot is gone and money wasted. So i use digital camera and then get the pics in pendrive, choose which pic i would want to keep in computer and which pics i would want in my photo album too.. so i definitely get prints much less than before but the pics i want to keep with me i do get them printed.

Hi Asweetie, I am not sure if I do not make myself clear, sorry for the confusion if so. I use the ditital cameral as well, and pick up the photos that I like the best for printing(I shoudn't say developing here, right) I do not like to keep all photos in computer only, as there are really too many photos, I would like to keep some best in album for easy checking later. Have a nice day and happy mylotting.

Hello Karen,
I like to take pictures and for sure I will develop all the photos I have taken. I just like to keep all the photo in albums. When ever I go for traveling, and I will have lot of photo taken and with the photo develop, I can enjoy and recall back where I have go and what I have done there. It is good to keep those sweet memory .
Now I have 2 kids and I taken more photo than last time. I enjoy take photo for them and because kids just grow too fast. I can have the memory in the photo! I still upload the photo and keep in my laptop. But I will develop the photo too. Not only for my own viewing, my kids them selves too like to see their photo, especially their baby photo. On top of that, my family and in law will like to see their photo album . So I have to update the photo album often and I will jot down the dates in case the photo taken don't have the date!

My family are the ones "in charge" of keeping the old family photos, we got tons from vacation and just goofing off around the house, several albums that my mom keeps in stacks. From that batch my favorite is when I was with me and my older brother together... we both played a joke at mom and we ended up taking a picture of her (she showed smiling and pretending to hit us while we were pretending to wrong from her, she said thats her favorite picture because its a reflection of how our childhood was for her).
Now a days, to be honest I dont have the old camera type and develop photos. What I do is we have our digital cameras and our cellphones were we connect our computers and keep a copy of the pictures in it. When we want to have the album created we actually print out the pictures and develop it ourselves.
We only went once in like... 2 years to develop pictures and even at the shop it isnt the same. We went in and there was this guy eating his lunch and we wanted to have our pictures developed (it was digital photos and our computers were not available back then) and the guy just showed us this machine that has a USB connection to it or if you wanted to transfer via Bluetooth you could if it was a cellphone or a cd if it was in files and so forth and so forth and we ended up printing our stuff. All the guy did was just collect the money from the amount of copies we took out and that was it.
I have to say we actually have come along way from developing photos the old fashion way. We may need again sometime if there was a computer crash or something, but so far, I like the way photos are digitalized for now!
Happy Mylotting
