What is your favorite holiday?

I don't really have one. My daughter loves Halloween. She decorates until the apartment looks more like a Munster house than home as I remember it. Then she and my grandson carve pumpkins and roast the seeds. They usually eat half the candy before the night rolls around and they have to go to the store again. Is there a holiday like this for you? What do you enjoy best about it? Why do you like it so much? Does it stem from some pleasant memories from your childhood?

I enjoy Halloween because it is Fun you get to dress up and be anybody you want to be.
And you don't even have to tell who you are and no one will usually know.
Thats the fun part you can be someone else. I been to several Halloween Parties where no one knew it was me. I loved it it was so much fun..

Hi Alice
Well I really not good at making costumes because I can't sew good. But I usually buy a mask and put together something fun and exciting.
My kids called me old man Jenkins one year I had a old mad mask with Grey hair big nose.
I got a pair of men dress pants dress shirt and a blazer and a cane men dress shoes it was awesome wish I had a pic.

Let's see... I guess my favorite holiday growing up was Christmas. The decorations on the tree, helping putting them up... and ALL THE PRESENTS... lol. Not just that, but family being together. My favorite holiday now is the same, though my family hasn't done the holiday cheer thing with EVERYBODY in a while. Now my fiance and I spend it together and with his parents / his family. This Christmas will be our third christmas together, and our first one as husband and wife! I'm so excited!

Thanks Celtic! I'm rolling around ideas for traditions in my head, or trying too... lol. Hubby's mom and dad's tradition is getting ornament's every year. Our first christmas we got an ornament that says "our first christmas" well I got that one, and he got a star trek one! lol!
The second one, I can't remmeber, but his mom bought it for us, I think it says our names on it... This Christmas, I can't wait for!
Oh and Alice, Just being with family is so nice... I love it, I just wish that my mom's side would get together. My dad's side does as far as I know, and if we go visit them this will be the first christmas I spent with them in years!
New Traditions, Rekindling of Families... and Just having fun!
Can you tell I'm excited?

Thanksgiving is my favorite, because it does not require gifts and because of many happy memories associated with it. Also because of many happy birthdays during that time frame, including both of my children.

Halloween is my favorite holiday so right now I am pretty happy! I don't know what it is about Halloween that I love so much. The decorations are cool, dressing up in costume is ok even if you are an adult and the kids just have so much fun.

I don't know, it depends on my mood haha. For the most part Christmas, brings back lots of memories....but Halloween, Thanksgiving, & Easter all have memories too haha. IDK, Easter is bunny themed and I love bunnies. I love Halloween because I like scary stuff, like Haunted houses. Thanksgiving is yummy. I don't know. That's a hard question...how about, all of them? :o)

I love Christmas, although lately it seems that's when I'm the most stressed and upset. The financial aspect of it is horrible. I keep trying to talk my husband into the 'no gifting' tradition, but that never seems to work out and we usually spend too much and have to spend the rest of the year getting caught up on things just to do it all over again. If it weren't for the commercialism, it would definately be the best, because I do love the family all together, which doesn't happen anytime else though out the year. Plus, I love Christmas movies!! Christmas Vacation is one of my favorites, and we usually throw in Holiday Inn and Eight Crazy Nights just for fun. And you can never see Rudolph or Frosty too many times!!! I always wanted to go to the Island of Misfit Toys, lol!

Hey celtic~ I think that is so cute that your daughter and your
grandson enjoy Halloween so much! I never was big on Halloween myself,
but did enjoy watching how others did so enjoy it! When I was young I
guess I liked it! I guess of all the holidays I like the most it would
have to be Christmas! I wasn't allowed to have a Christmas Tree when
I was young because my family was Jewish, sort or although we did
also celebrate Christmas which left me really confused! We lit the
Chanukah Candles and celebrated both holidays, but my father wouldn't
let us have a tree. So as soon as I had my own place I had my first
Christmas Tree and have had one ever since, although now I only have
a very little one because of my cats! I think I just love Christmas
because of the lights and the songs and the general feelings that
Christmas brings! I became a Born Again Christian years ago, so it
always felt right to me to celebrate Christmas!

Christmas is a joyous time. I bet it was confusing to be Jewish and yet celebrate Christmas. Interesting. I love the festiveness of Christmas. Enjoy!

I like halloween a lot. I have had alot of fun throughout the years as a child and an adult having fun with my kids on halloween. I have even thrown big halloween parties for my girls and their friends before, I think my second favorite is Christmas. Having some time off work and stuffing myself like a pig is great...lol.

I am not big on holidays. I prefer non-seasonal, family, spontaneous times together. But if I had to choose, it would be Christmas. My 7 year old grandson looks forward to decorating the tree and making his presents for everyone. He has Asperger's , so to see him wanting to give presents to someone else is very touching. Since change is difficult for him, we have to keep the tree up until almost Valentine's day. That's always good for a laugh.

Christmas! I'm a Christmas nut. I love the colors and sounds and bright lights! And it's perfect if it snows. I love Christmas music, Christmas trees and how (some) people are so cheerful and giving then - that Christmas spirit still shows up even now.

My favorite holiday would be Christmas season because it's the longest one and it's festive and meaningful. And we get lots of presents LOL. And it doesn't matter if you're young or old because it's for everybody who believes in it and for those too who doesn't. Anyways, I love all holidays short or long because we have other things to do aside from the normal routinary ones.

I love Christmas too. I always look forward to this holiday every year. I love giving presents, and, of course, I also love getting presents in return. I always get very busy when December arrives because of many Christmas-related activities like caroling, gift giving, Christmas parties, etc. December is the busiest month for me.
