Hi mylotmembers,
I want to know home remedies for kidney stone and also want to know what are the food items to avoid what we have to consume more.. I know one thing that the affected person should drink water and to avoid tomotoes like this if you know any please let me know. Why i am asking this because yesterday my hubby is not well and we went to doctor after diagnosis he told that he is having 1.1cm of stone in his right and .7mm in left...
We plan to break it by ESWL i am not sure(i know it will produce some vibration and it will break the stone).
Whether it will come again after removing? Please guide.

Hydration is important, so drinks lots of water (two and a half to three liters per day). If you need to pee, urinate immediately don't wait. You should also be physically active. It also depends on the type of stone for your diet, like:
If it is calcium oxalate stone, you need to cut down foods with high levels of oxalate. Such as: chocolate, tea, rhubarb, spinach, and strawberries.
If it is uric acid stone, you should eat less meat, fish, and poultry. You physician may prescribe medications for this.
If it is struvite (or infection) stone, you need long term antibiotics to keep your urine free from bacteria that causing the infection.
Hope these help! Thanks.

Hi,
Kidney beans, also known as dried French beans or Rajmah, are regarded as a very effective home remedy for kidney problems, including kidney stones. The method prescribed to prepare the medicine is to remove the beans from inside the pods, then slice the pods and put about sixty grams in four litre of hot water, boiling them slowly for six hours. This liquid should be strained through fine muslin and then allowed to cool for about eight hours. Thereafter the fluid should be poured through another piece of muslin without stirring.A glass of this decoction should be given to the patient every two hours throughout the day for one day and, thereafter, it may be taken several times a week. This decoction would not work if it was more than twenty-four hours old. The pods could be kept for longer periods but once they were boiled, the therapeutic factor would disappear after one day.
Basil has a strengthening effect on the kidneys. In case of kidney stones, one teaspoon each of basil juice and honey should be taken daily for six months. It has been found that stones can be expelled from the urinary tract by this treatment.
Celery is a valuable food for those who are prone to getting stones in the kidneys or gall-bladder. Its regular intake prevents future stone formation.
Thanks,
Aira

I totally agree with you. I would like to emphasize on the salt. I have heard that many made kidney stone because of eating too much salt. Well, as what I have learn there are two types of kidney stone and depend on what it is made of. I can't emphasize it here because I really do not know about the type of stone. But you can search over the net and read from books for more information.

My hubby used to really struggle with kidney stones. The hospital was no help and the only thing that ended up working was going to the naturopath. He got some acupuncture and was given a tea that the naturopath made that helped to desolve the stones so that they could pass. I'm sorry I don't know what is in it and it doesn't say since they make it at the place. Now whenever my husband feels like one is starting to rear it's ugly head, he drinks the tea for a few days and passes with very little pain. It works wonders. Good luck. I know they are super painful.

It’s very pain experience. I don’t have the kidney stone, but one of my best friends had it before. One time I saw him, he was very painful. If your hubby’s stone are not too big, better to stay home and let them out by themselves. I don’t know much about how to reduce the pain, but I hear better not eat banana. It would add the pain to people who have kidney stone. My friend totally doesn’t eat banana after he found he had kidney stone.

hi,
I know how painful it is specially while urinating...my friend had it but i m not sure of the size of the stone..as all says lots n lots of water is very ueful as it helps to urinate frequently n easily...need to avoid all items which has seeds i.e tomatoes, cucumber etc and also avoid green veg i.e spinach, coriander etc..
It really depends on the individuals health and eating habit for occurrence of stone again in future..but possibilities are likely increases to have it again in future..once we are curing for it,it should be removed completely otherwise chances are more..
hope this will help

I don't know if you know herbal medicine like SAMBONG it is very effecting for dissolving kidney stones. There's a tablet form of it in the market here in the Philippines. As of now I haven't use the dried sambong leaves yet from the province when I asked my aunt to find me sambong leaves so my parents would bring it at home.

My father was diagnoised with kidney stone one day and he was asked to get it removed by operation. But he didnt for go one, instead he turned to homeopathy and started drinking more water, also he started taking garlic say 3-4 cloves of them in empty stomach first thing in the morning. It helped and the stones, came with the urine. It never formed again. But then again his stone size was small compared to your husband's.
I think the chances of stones forming are less but in some cases it does form. It depends a lot on life style and food habits.

My husband also suffers with kidney stones. He has been working on passing one for over a month now. It is relatively small but it is a slow mover. First off, the doctor said to avoid soda pop as much as possible and drink water or cranberry juice. I guess this verifies the fact that we've always heard that cranberry juice is good for the kidneys.
As far as pain management at home, they told him to take a bath for 15-20 minutes in hot water (as hot as he could tolerate it) when he was going through an intense bout of pain. Make sure the water covers the abdomen.

Drink cranberry juice. I have even heard this from medical doctors. I don't know what it is in the juice, but somehow it helps with kidney stones. The best of luck!

I just read yesterday of a home remedy using ginger poultices. They claim that it worked very well. You get a piece of fresh ginger root, grate a quarter of a cup into a piece of cheesecloth or bag and put it in a gallon of water that's been brought to the boiling point, but don't boil the ginger. Let it set for about 15 minutes, then dip a towel into it and apply to the painful area. Keep it as hot as you can stand. Use a second towel as a standby so you don't have to wait when the first one begins to cool off.
The woman who used it said that when she passed the stone, it was rubbery instead of hard and that the pain wasn't nearly as bad as earlier ones she'd passed.
I don't this first hand, I'm only passing it along, but it wouldn't hurt to try.

I am also facing the problem of kidney stones and the doctor has advised me to drink plenty of fluids. The thing which we should avoid are tomatoes, cucumber and all things which have seeds.
These do reoccur ,as my doctor says, because when these get removed, vacuum is created and there is always chance of their occurrence.
