My opinion is this: I think one of the reasons why Philippines would never attain development and progress, is because Filipinos always associate a person to all his or her entire families where it is convenient to look them individually rather than a whole group.
The point is, why we judge Noynoy's capacity based on the record of his youngest sister?I will disagree also to the popular notion of the public that if He can't control his sister how much more to become a good leader.
Oh my God!I just can't believe there are still people who think like idiot 1930 generation. We are now in the 21st century who think independently, who made decisions based on what we believed on that person and not his entire family.
Back in early 2000, I read reports that Senator Noynoy and Kris Aquino were not in speaking tears for seven years because Noynoy was extremely frustrated with his younger sister's love story, he made every possible disciplined he could for Kris but then Kris is really a spoiled brat who loved doing her own things than follow her mother or siblings' advises. Even Kris greatly acknowledged Noynoy's strict discipline but it was she who really stubborn and hard-headed.
So please, if there are no big issue other than Kris stubbornness to be thrown to Senator Noynoy, because he has really no record of scandal and corruption, please don't bring the issue of Kris's difficult behavior as her brother's downfall. Noynoy is a different person, he is in exact opposite of Kris, if Kris is very outspoken Noy is quiet and reserved and very private. It is now high time to separate the two siblings, they are not even twins.
Infairness to Senator Noynoy, he did his best to discipline Kris but it is just unfortunate that Kris is really uncontrollable that even their mother, the late President, could not even control.

Just a minor correction: Senator Noynoy and Kris Aquino were not in speaking tears for seven years because Noynoy was extremely frustrated with his younger sister's love story and her affinity towards married men which Senator Noynoy pronounced as "inconceivable".

first off, i'm not questioning noynoy's capacity or maturity per se. i'm questioning kris' immaturity and childishness and the way she's making it like it's all but showbiz. for the "better good" of noynoy, cris should just shut up. or be wary and sensible of what's she's saying to the public.
read what inquirer columnist neal cruz admonished on kris aquino, in http://opinion.inquirer.net/inquireropinion/columns/view/20090911-224618/Presidential-race-will-be-a-4-cornered-fight

The actions of others do not reflect on one single person.
I think of it like this -
Kris is an adult and she is responsible for her own actions. Her brother needs not baby sit her. Her actions do not dictate his capabilities or abilities. She is her own person with her own mind.
I also think, the actions and successes of parents do not always reflect on their children either. By that, I would again say that just because someone in your family is a certain way, it doesn't mean you are the same nor does it define who you are.

I strongly agree with you rg0205!
All of us are unique and we have our own brains!
If Noynoy can't control Kris or whatsoever doesn't mean that it will bring him down. He still have the power to rule his life. He might just need support just like everybody else.
If we could only see the picture then we'll see that Kris just wanted to help her brother. And whats the harm in it?

im not a fan of noynoy, nor of kris aquino's but for me, would you want to be branded as a "blacksheep" in your family because you have your own views, you have your own husband(not so perfect) to care for? i mean, why do we always do such things? We are not perfect, no one is! and I believe Noynoy is noynoy... Kris is Kris... from the appearance, we can already tell they are different... so why do we let other people influence our minds into something so silly as such? i just hope we can let them live their lives...

I'm sure that Kris' popularity will somehow help Noynoy's candidacy and I'm thinking it wouldn't hurt it either if she has a sister who is on national tv almost 24/7. Kris has always been herself in front of the camera and off it. She has never tried to be hat she is not. Other people may or may not like her but I don't think that that would make them vote for or against Noynoy.

kris is really something. i mean she makes her way in this world unlike some of our countrymen who are born into a rich family and just stay as leeches to their parents' money. however, having her as a member of a political family is such a political machine's delicate task. in other countries, kris' life would spell doomsday to any candidate. in this country, there is hope and there is no offense in what i said. however, i don't think anybody can control kris had she been anybody's sister. kris just sort of exploded when she was already way past her teens and is already making her own money. had this happened when she was younger then i guess the aquino family would and could've done something about it. i think kris could put noynoy in the background but noynoy could never do the same thing to kris. kris has her father's wit and personality that commands attention. i just wish, whilst kris' fascination and quest to fall in love then, that noynoy got this. unluckily, he got the pants and kris got the skirt so....

kris is even saying that she doesn't want her brother to marry! well, maybe she doesn't like shalani. or maybe she's afraid that her brother's fiancee will become the first lady and kris will be only in the background? how's that for a sister of a matured man aspiring to be THE PRESIDENT of this country?

Although I don't prefer Noynoy as the next president that is not my thinking. I think that way of thinking is narrow-minded. His younger sister has her own life and mind which means she has control over her own behavior. She's not even in politics. If she has made mistakes she is matured enough to learn from it. No, I'm not a fan and I don't even like her. But Noynoy is a good man he also deserves a spot to serve the country in every way that he can.

I think that nobody should control anybody. Ironically, if Noynoy will control Kris then people might think that Noynoy will also control the nation. This is not what people want, as well as everybody else. In fact, people wants freedom.
Therefore, I think that Noynoy should only motivate Kris. And he can do this by being a good example.
Thanks!

The funny thing would be if the election is not still computerized and ballots will have Kris name in it as President LOL
It maybe his downfall but it maybe also his gain, really depends on the thinking of the people.
Anyways, I'm not into who is endorsing the presidential candidate. And there's still a lot of time to "shopping" for best President.

why would the people view someones candidacy through their families outburst or onm their siblings characters? maybe Kris would even be a great help for him. but i know in some way it is not a very good idea. because of Kris strong attitude and characteristics, i just hope nothing would go wrong with what Noynoy have for our country. but i dont see any hindrance towards his candidacy when Kris is involve. and whatever may be the outcome, i know he is the one making it. not his sibling.

I don't think Kris would be Noynoy's downfall.. I mean she is really just talkive at times, but that's about it.. I mean she pays her tax, and she only says things that are true anyway, so why are we so scared of her? it's not fair that people are accusing her of ruining her brother's candidacy..

even now that noynoy's just been gunning to be a president, kris has already showed how taklesa (tactless) she is. how much more if noynoy is already The President? kris should just shut up. this early she's showing she'll be the "Imelda" of a "President Noynoy" acting as if she's the first lady olredi. lol! she thinks it's all showbiz! even if i may prefer noynoy, i will not vote him because of his seemingly domineering sister!
