OMG!! OMG!! Yesterday, hubby took Lil Tux in to the spay and neuter clinic to be neutered and this morning he went to pick Lil Tux up and OMG!! This one lady got her cat and said "This isn't my cat!" Come to find out, they had 3 black and white cats come in and they got them all mixed up!! One lady took one of them home and let him out and now she can't catch him!! I sent the pictures to hubby's email so they could pull it up there at the clinic and they don't have him so this lady has to have MY cat who happens to be a stray and very scared of people!! He only trusts hubby and I, NOBODY else!! The other two that are still at the clinic aren't Lil Tux so this one that this woman took him IS!!!!!!!!! Damn it all!!!! Poor Lil Tux has gone through enough hell as it is because he was so ragged out looking when he first came to me, then he got a big big gash on his forehead so apparently something got him but he was able to break free and run and now this?????????

Oh Cats, you've got to be kidding! Well I know you're not, but you know what I mean. Hells bells, how are they going to fix this one? I'd be jumping out of my skin about now. Hold the vet responsible Cats. And the woman that has/had Lil Tux couldn't have looked at him closely not to notice he wasn't hers! She couldn't have been very bonded to her cat! Oh sweets, I so feel for you and I hope this gets sorted before you lose your mind.................love you.

The a-holes who own the spay and neuter clinic blames the lady who took him when in fact, THEY were the ones who gave him to this lady. She trusted that they gave her the right cat and didn't know until she got home, fed him and let him out the door. It was too late then for he took off. Her cat is really similar to mine so it's no wonder but dang the clinic anyways because they should've left the collars on. This place mixed up four cats and everybody got theirs back but me. The clinic has offered no apologies, no help what so ever, and no compensation for either our gas, time, and medical attention that I had to get and tell us to talk to their lawyer. We can't find a lawyer to take our case and the court system says it's not a small claims case so what do we do now? We know! We've made up a bunch of flyers and are going to hand them out to anybody and everybody to hurt this business of these scum bags in hopes they'll come off of their butts and do something or else, their business will be affected GREATLY!! Now mess with us and give us the run around!! lol This is a copy of the flyer we've made. Hopefully, the owners of this clinic will get off their butts and pay us our due. What do you think of the flyer? True Story of a Lost Cat Beware! Your pet could be the next one lost! My human parents have asked for help in finding me to no avail as well as compensation for gas as well as medical however, the staff at Planned Pethood Spay & Neuter Clinic stated they were not going to give a penny in compensation and said to talk to their lawyer. Man! Lawsuit time, Cats! That should NEVER have happened! How totally irresponsible of that veterinary clinic!!! Unbelievable!!! I most definitely wouldn't let this slide with only some ripe words! Unbelievable!!!!! I'd say it's time to see a lawyer about this... right away! I'm hoping against hope that you will be able to recover Lil Tux but it does seem that the odds of that happening are rather slim, seeing as how he is so afraid of everyone but you and your hubby. Yep, I'd be suing them. Not because they lost my cat, specifically, but because they should suffer for making your cat suffer now! This should NEVER be allowed to happen again! I hope you do sue them and that they lose their license to practice veterinary medicine!!! Go get 'em, Cats!!! We're all behind you here!!!

i wonder why in the h#ll they dont tag them with like a little hospital type tag when they move them around to get surgery? they could tag them once their asleep or else somewhere they cant reach. they need to start doing this as the pets are like family and just as important as the loved ones human we have. when WE go to the clinic even they tag our wrists with identifacation. why would they not do that?

hmmm do I see a first class lawsuit against this clinic I think so. They need a new system..each animal comes in their should have their own tags with the, name of the cat, the owners phone number. Tell them to start collaring them and they won't have any problems. Because cats don't have collars, the owner expects the vet to know that, that is their cat. When in reality they don't so it is really a good idea next time to have a collar, like you would a dog put on your cat(just for the vet stay) then this way they can tell wether or not the cat belongs to what owner, or to you for that matter. Once the cat comes home or is released to you, you can remove the collar. Just a suggestion I'll pray for the safe return of you kitten, and i'M SO sorry.

I'm sorry to hear an attorney won't take your case. Most states, like the one I live in, have it so you can file a lawsuit yourself depending on the amount. In Kentucky if the amount of the lawsuit is under $1,500.00 you can file it yourself and you don't need an attorney. If the lawsuit is higher and you can prove the amount of reimbursement, Vet fees etc. this would also include attorney fees, court cost, then it would take a lawyer (crooks in suits) to handle the lawsuit. Me personally I would contact the Human Society closes to you they have people that can help you if they can't they know someone who can. Good Luck

That is absolutely unbelieveable. I can't believe it. If your little kitty isn't found, can you sue the clinic? I can not believe they did this. I would be rip roaring mad, and I would want some kind of compensation if my cat is not found. I know that nothing would be able to replace the cat, but still, those buggers should have to pay BIG for their mistakes.

I really feel sorry for Lil Tux (and you as well of course) a visit to the vets is traumatic enough for the cat without this sort of thing happening. They should have labels on the cage with the cats name and saying who the owner is. That seems to me to be a basic precaution against mix ups like this. I have three black and white cats and my neghbour says that he cannot tell them apart! I can!

I am glad to see you again. I know you took a break for a little while. Wow!! I can not believe what has happened to your cat. It seems the vet's office would take precautions to prevent mix up's. Don't they tag the animals?

ya know, that happened to my mom, except she's the one that brought the wrong cat home! she took her big yellow cat to get fixed and when she brought home the cat she thought was Rudy, turned out it was some other cat and he hid behind the dryer. She finally extracted him and got him back to the vet for her cat- needless to say, the other family wasn't real happy either...

Goodness, that's horrible. So you got your cat back now and he's safe and sound? What an awful experience. How could the clinic get pets mixed up? Furthermore, WHO would be able to take a pet that they can see is not their pet??!

Hi Bethany, No I didn't get my cat back. Hubby and I went out to where he was and he showed himself and let me catch up to him and pick him up in which I talked and petted him to let him know he's back in my arms again but then when he saw my husband running with the carrier, he freaked out and bit me hard on my arm and had to seek medical attention because I got celulitous from the bite. I almost had him a second time but he got away before I could get him by the back of his neck and his feet so he wouldn't choke over his weight but wouldn't move either, he got away from me and I couldn't get him since and we drove the 60 miles, one way, for a week and a half trying to get him to come to me or let me go to him. The last time we were down there, we passed out flyers in hopes if someone sees him to call us and nothing. It's been 4 months now and I don't know if he's even alive anymore because we have coyotes here. The spay and neuter clinic blames the lady who took him when in fact, THEY were the ones who gave him to this lady. don't know where you live and i feel you probably would not do what i am going to suggest, but: sue the clinic. when you drop the pet off, THEY are responsible -- it's their job. the vets are licensed animal doctors. i know of a case in california where the vet screwed up and now the vet doesn't practice any longer. THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE. go after them. and you'll have to pay for the services probably.

Wow, that's just awful! I'd demand the address that your baby was sent to and go there to look for him. I'd also look into suing those incompetent morons. If your baby hears YOU or your husband calling for him in that area, he may come out of hiding. Good luck, I'll be praying for an update with a happy ending.

The reason my human parents were given was because they removed my collar before leaving for the night so that I wouldn’t get hurt. Now how are they to know who I belong to if I don’t have a collar? The person who took me has a cat very similar to me and she didn’t realize she had me until it was too late. She had already let me out of the carrier and set free. The Planned Pethood Spay & Neuter Clinic blames this person for taking me when it was their fault because they were the responsible ones who should’ve left my collar on to begin with. Planned Pethood Spay & Neuter Clinic never offered my human parents an apology but continued to blame the person who took me when she didn’t realize that she was given the wrong cat. My human parents tried to find me and keep the clinic up to date on the progress however, the staff treated us with indifference. My human parents have asked for help in finding me to no avail as well as compensation for gas as well as medical however, the staff at Planned Pethood Spay & Neuter Clinic stated they were not going to give a penny in compensation and said to talk to their lawyer. Plans: Get the word out that I’m still lost and still receive no help what so ever from the Planned Pethood Spay & Neuter Clinic and to warn others as well.

Omg wow, they mixed up your cats that is crazy. I can't believe that they didn't pay that much attention to whose cat belonged well. Are the veterinarians clinic planning on switching them back and did the other lady who has you cat did she recognize any difference at all as well. There should be some type of compensation for the whole mix up. I hope everything goes well or has already gone well and you have gotten your cat back.

The idiots who own the spay and neuter clinic blames the lady who took him when in fact, THEY were the ones who gave him to this lady. Gee whiz, its like you have a black cloud hanging over you. You take one step forward and two steps back. I hope you find Lil Tux, that poor baby, he has to be so scared. he gets taken from your house to the vets, has an opeation and then the wrong people get him. I hope you get him back. The vets not going to have the nerve to charge you are they, specially when they don't have your cat.

Oh noooooooooooooo! Dam vet should of kept better track of the cats if there are more than one of same coloring. Like maybe put paper collars around their neck with name. I pray you and your hubby find Lil' Tux before something bad happens to him again. Poor guy! I bet he's scared out his little head.

OMG--how horrible...poor Lil Tux he must be scared out of his mind. Would you be able to contact this woman, call her up and tell her you're going to pick him up at her place? I would. And as some have suggested here...sounds like a good case for a lawsuit against the vet's office for this horrible mix up Please keep us posted and if you've managed to get Lil Tux back

OMG!!! That is horrible. Did you get him back yet? I'll bet they still expect to get paid for their work. The clinic i took Bubba Kat to was drop him off in the morning and pick them up in evening. No overnite. They tagged the carrier with his name my name, address and phone #. Im so glad this didnt happen with us. My cats are tailless manx so it would not be hard to tell him from others. That poor cat. Please let us know what happens. Prayers that you get him back.

What a mess, but if they are as busy as our Vet is I can see how it could happen. I can just hear that phone call. Hope there is a happy ending for you on this one.

Unbelievable! They should really tag the kitties as they come in. Just like babies and people have the hospital bracelets. Maybe they can put a little collar on them with their info. I can't believe the other lady couldn't tell the difference. I would definitely notice if it wasn't one of my little kitties. Poor Lil Tux. I have a little tuxedo cat also. See my avatar. They are so sweet. Good luck! I really hope you get him back soon!
