Hi goldenheart,
The Peel of an Orange is full of what they call flavanoids hope I spell that right. Unfortunately the peel is also full of pesticides on the outside so they reckon to eat organic orange peel only. I would not eat the peel because it is very laxative honest this is the truth. When you peel an orange leave more white skin or pith on the orange and you are consuming more vitamins and minerals which have anti-inflammatory properties in all the white skin is valuable on the orange the same as the skin on the apple is. The orange peel can be used for aromatic purposes cookery and other things.
But being practical just leave more white skin on the outside and you will be right. You are getting the best part of the orange. It lowers cholesterol it is also good for curbing those hunger pangs we all have mid morning for up to three hours maybe more.

uh oh 'pesticisdes'? thats plausible but didn't think about that before juicing it but had the washed efficiently I suppose but yeah I am still normal so I guess it was minimal because I don't think it was organic. Thanks for all the info anyways it was very educative.

I'm guessing it is fine to consume as it is often asked for in recipes and the inside of the peel is the same stuff that ends up stuff to the orange inside. The white stuff is meant to be very good for you. But I'm not an expert.
I suppose it is the same as Kiwi peel. You'll able to eat it, it's just that many choose not too.

yeah thanks it's safe, at least after 3 days when I tried it. I nibbled on it, some of it (not all) while I ate the orange with a lot of the white part.

I like oranges. I would not ever think of eating the pee though unless they call for it in a recipe. It is too tangy and tart for my tastes. I just think that I will eat oranges ust the inside of them for now. I like oranges but my favorite fruit is probably pears. They are the best fruit as far as I am concerned. I do like them.

I make a wonderful orange peel and carrot jam. If you are talking about the orange peel when you speak of the "back" it´s eatable. In fact, all the orange can be eaten Some parts are bitter though.
