Why do people join PTC sites?

Despite knowing that most of PTCs are scams then why do people join them? For instance,sites like Sweetptr(which pays $10 to $50 for a click) are becoming popular day by day. I have checked and found that an average of 400 members remain online an hour in that site. Have you been scammed by any PTC site and later have you tried another one with a hope that you will be paid?

As i have been very new to this, what i think is people are much ignorant about these kind of sites and there are no one to tell them..]
They will be knowing this in future as they don't get their payout after surfing in those sites for a long time.
