So I love to read, but I can't say that I've read enough books before seeing the movie or even seeing the movie then reading the book. The only story I've seen the movie after reading was "LES MISERABLES" and that's because the book was so grasping that I wanted to see the living (movie form) version. Do you prefer one over the other or experience both?

I feel very hard to read a book, unrest my eyes and use my barin to understand the story but its a ready to serve in watching movies.we dont have to think much about the scenes as they are in front of us.I prefer watching movies rather reading books on the same stories.

I felt the same way about "the Lord of the Rings". I heard there was a large number of books on this story, which was when Lord of the Rings came out in theaters and I thought to myself how much I rather just watch the collection than read the collection. I'm glad I did and still haven't read a book of the story.

i like reading books more than watching movie adaptations. reading gives me more freedom to imagine and visualize. and i always make sure that if i watch a movie adaptation, i read the book first.

I love both movies and books, however a lot of the time it is more difficult for me to read a book after seeing the movie. I read In Her Shoes and as soon as the movie came out I saw it. Sometimes, it depends on the story as to which I prefer to do first. I saw the Godfather for the first time in April, and am now reading the book, and I am actually glad I saw the movie first. I love to do both, and I always hope that a movie adapation of a book will be as good as the book.

I prefer bookreading to movie viewing because in book reading,we can imagine the things the way we want to but in a movie we are forced to see how the director wants us to.There is no chance for us to imagine how the writer depicted a certain scene.so I always vote for book

I prefer reading to watching the movie because sometimes the movie tend to exaggerate some scenes to make it more dramatic. Reading a book gives you the time to digest the story and get inside the minds of the character which a movie can't do. But I will watch the movie after reading the book. I saw 1984 and Animal Farm after reading George Orwell's books.

I do feel that if you read the book before watching the movie, the movie tends to be disappointing, how ever if you watch the movie then read the book, the book seems to elaborate on the film. I prefer to read as my imagination is a lot more vivid then a movie and I really lose myself when reading. The only thing I find is the sense of loss I feel when I get to the end of a really good book.

I do both. Most of the time I watch the movie first then read the book if the story in the movie was good enough to spark my interest. It's a rare occasion when I love a movie and hate the book. I find that if I read (and love) the book, I hold the movie to very high standards and I hate being disappointed. A recent one that stands out in my mind is Ink Heart. I LOVED the book but I cannot stand Brendan Fraser so when I heard he was playing one of the lead roles, I said no thanks, I don't think I want to see that. Which made me very sad because the Thief Lord movie was excellent and I was excited about Cornelia Funke making another of her terrific stories into a movie.
On the other hand, Where the Wild Things Are, coming out next month, looks freaking AMAZING! Spike Jonez is absolutely brilliant and Maurice Sendak personally approved the screenplay and worked on the movie so I have no doubts it will be as good as it looks and as good as the book.

In this battle, movie it`s definently a winner . In our busy world, i don`t think there are a lof of people that are having some free time to read a book . It`s faster to see the movie . In 2 hours you know all that happened in that book of maybe 300 full pages . It`s true that you can`t feel the same experience, but the movie has his own properties that can beat the book anytime . It`s prefered the movie, because it`s seen faster than it`s readed the book .
