What do you do when your best friend is away from you?

My dog Buddy just had surgery today. It was dental surgery, he broke a tooth at the back of his mouth. They also gave his teeth a cleaning. While he was away for the day I was going out of my mind. The house just seemed so quiet even though I have another dog in the house. She spent the day up in our bedroom sleeping, so I didn't really see her that much. All I kept thinking about is this what it's going to be like when he's gone? I tried very hard not to go there. But lately I've been wondering what it's going to be like not to have him anymore. Does anyone else feel that way? Does your house feel quiet when your best friend is away from you?

My best friend was abroad for some two weeks and all we did is we called each other after every two or three days, then we email each other, and we kept chatting at night. It is good to have a very best friend by your side.

when my best friend is away from me.... first of all i will find and try all possible ways to stay in contact. Secondly i make sure that we both keep ourselves updated with wots going on with our lives regularly.if still this is not possible then i try to find a mediator who is in contact with both of us.

When our dog ewok was gone, I mean, he was totally lost. We were very sad, and the house was really quiet. We couldn't afford to buy another dog because we still miss our ewok, he was our dog for 11 years. :(
When he was gone, For a month we looked for him but we coudn't find him. So after 3 months of hunting, we bought another dog and call him jigsaw. Just to ease our depression. =)
