sep.10th is the day of teachers' in china, i don't know whether you have a day like this or not, many students gave their teachers a gift, roses, choclate, a card they made themselves. i missed the day, but i have to give a gift to my teacher in high school in this weekend. she is a most venerable person. i think for a while, have no idea what is the best to give. fellow mylots, please give me a suggestion, thx.

I think the original intention of this day is to respect our teachers. When I was a child, teachers were really honorable indeed. Every teacher's day, when we wanted to give gifts to them, they just said, "Being a good listener and studying hard are the best gifts." And if we insist on it, a card was enough.
But now, on 9/10, almost every student or pupil holds several bunch of flowers to go to school. Before that day (the mid-autumn festival is coming), parents are busy to preparing the gifts, such as moon-cake coupons, other gift coupon, dinner, even cash directly.
You know, parents do this all, if you are the exception. You must risk that teachers will treat your only child or child unfairly.
If your teacher is honorable, just give something monumental, don't think of the price too much; but if he/she is not, something valuable but small-size is better.

hi, orang juice, thanks a lot for your suggetion. you are right, the teachers nowadays are no longer that honarable. they treat students in different way mostly depends on how much their parents give them. my teacher is not that kind. maybe i would accompany her for one day to chat about what she is interested.

Yeah, as your teacher is honorable. You can talk with her and find her interests. And prepare your gift with your heart.
I think no matter what your gift is, your teacher will enjoy it!

thanks a lot. i had a great day with my teacher. she is as respective as i was in school. i just gave her a small gift which does not mean anything. she was so happy, and i was moved at that time. we talked too much what interesting in school and we had meal together. it was a memorable day. thanks again.
