Khuay just came in and jumped into my lap and actually said two things to me in cat! I was surprised because Khuay isn't a big talker. He is Siamese and all the Siamese I've owned have been really big talkers. But Willy and Khuay are the silent type. The other night Khuay came into the family room, chattering like crazy. It was the kind of chatter that cats give when they have captured live prey. He came into the room and spit a small soft blue ball onto the floor--so much for live prey.
Do your cats talk a lot, or are they the "strong silent type"?

That is strange that both Khuay and Willy are rather quiet for Siamese. My two cats, Kissy and Pyewacket are rather silent ones as well. The only time Kissy might talk is if she perhaps thinks I'm spending too much time in front of the computer and she wants attention. Pyewacket only occasionally meows...but no, for the most part those two are real quiet

first!! im first. anyway, yes i love how cats talk and dogs do to. i've had a couple of cats in the past that talk a lot and now i have a dog that talks a lot. my chihuahua coconut, does a "whoo whoo whawha" sound when my son comes home from work or just when she wants someone to pay attention that shes there and if someone cries out loud like a baby or something, she will yelp and whine to.

That is too cool! I am babysitting my sister's pit/lab mix and she is quite a talker! It is sooo funny to hear her. If my BF is in my yard and he doesn't come in immediately to see her she does a wooo wooo wooo that is so cute. If there is something she wants to eat, she actually will say "Please". If she is worried about my mini Dachshunds she lets loose with a Woot woot woot. When I hear that one I know to come running. She also has a special sound for the cats. She was raised by my sister's husband to hate cats, but she learned from me to be nice to them and she actually loves Willy and Khuay. She has a special snork for the cats that is sooooo cute.
My Mom's Rottweiler, Rocky, would ow-wooo to sirens. We were in our favorite motel with him one night, we were watching Emergency on the TV and he was sound asleep. He heard the sirens in his sleep and "sang" along with them. It was 11 p.m. and we had a heck of a time waking him up he was that sound asleep. The next morning the people that were in the next room told the management that they were so happy they didn't meet the dog that was in the room next to them...he sounded like he would eat them. She called us to bring Rocky down to meet the people and after their initial shock, they fell in love with Rocky too.

yeah, my old cat does but not this one i adopted today. probably getting used to the new environment. but probably she's more fun than any other cats around. i miss my old cat since she's a bit playful.cats do talk just to get your attention, and it can be annoying sometimes

My cat usually only talks when she wants something. If she wants to be pet or just loved she sort of makes a cute little squeaky meow, but if she's hungry and wants her special treats she'll jump on the counter and meow until she gets them. Sometimes, instead of talking she'll just paw me for attention or food. She also purrs a lot. She's a happy cat :)

even tho the flame points are considered pure by some rankings in the cat community, they actually have gotten that red from some out crossing in their back ground - so they may have gotten some of the less talkative genes too
Now, I have a cat purported to be a pure Siamese who had a very non-Siamese voice, tho he is some what talkative. Now, Rygel, the white-eared cat in my avatar hasn't the Siamese looks, but he's got the body type and the voice and he'll use it too. Scamp is a black Siamese and he's quite the noisiest cat I've ever had.

My cats all chat away depending on what mood they are in or also the mood I am in. Magnus is a very chatty puss, he gets very excited and vocal and runs in from wherever he is to tell you all about the drama he has invariably been the cause of lol! I had another cat, Faustus, that was such a great talker, his inflections and facials were comically human. they all have different communication methods though, my partner did not have cats til he met me and he's astounded to know just what cats atlk about lol!

My cat says all kinds of stuff to me but most of all if she gets mad she will bite fire out of me and will not leave me alone till I give her the attention she wants or I respond and figure out what she wants. My cat will do her talking thing and if that does not work the biting thing is sure to follow.
