The Ocean as Inspiration

I live on an island, surrounded on both sides by the most beautiful blue water. As a writer, this should be a constant source of inspiration, but lately it's been leaving me empty. So, if you know any good ocean stories, poems, songs, or essays, I would love to hear them. One of my favorites is Garcia Lorca's "El Mar". I've squeezed it dry though, literally. So, bring on the words for the sea.

You could write many short stories, novels and articles about that theme. If you are living on an island, just observe those boats sailing, fishermen froing and toing and if you haven't read this classic on sea, I recommend for you to visit Ernest Hemingway's Old Man and the Sea.

I love the sea and do indeed feel that it can become very inspiring. I hope you will continue to have inspiration from the sea. It is a good place to draw on nature and God's power. I think it is lovely.
