First of all, what is your favorite holiday? Please describe it fairly well, since this is a world wide forum. And then, what is your favorite holiday memory? My favorite holiday has to be Thanksgiving. This is an American (I think Canadians might celebrate it too) holiday to recognize all of the things that a good in our lives, even if we are in difficult situations. The main emphasis on this holiday is Thanksgiving Day Dinner, where we traditionally eat turkey, corn, mashed potatoes, yams, cranberry sauce as well as other dishes that can vary in each household. We eat with our families, often times we invite our extended family members to come or even friends who don't have families near to celebrate with. In my family, before we eat, we go around the table telling everyone at least one thing that we are grateful for. It is a very positive holiday and there is always a wonderful atmosphere! My favorite holiday memory is making food with my mamma all day long on Thanksgiving, I am always in charge of desserts! I love the bonding time that we share on those days!

Man, I have so many favorite memories with my family. We have so many Christmases and Thanksgivings to choose from but I htink my all time favorite memories and holidays with my friends/family was made on Halloween. Halloween is my mothers birthday so every year we would go to my grandparents and celebrate my moms bday then all my siblings and I would dress up as whatever and go trick or treating together. We would take our sleeping bags and would go to all the houses we could getting tons of candy. Then we would bring is home laughing acting crazy hyper and dump it out. My parents would check it and make sure it was okay then we would all sit around trading and telling stories about the night. Those are the best times. I miss Halloweens like that. Kids dont trick or treat here like they use to. It shows how sad the world is slowly becoming.

I love Halloween too! That is so cool that your mom's birthday was Halloween, it must make it even more special for you all. My favorite Halloween was in first grade, my family and I had just moved to the east coast and we were living in a 21 story building full of med students. My brother and I we the only kids in the building, but all the med students put a bowl of candy in front of their door because they wanted to go out instead of stay home for trick or treaters... this wasn't your normal candy, these were like king size candy bars... one place put a package of Oreos for each of us in front of thier door! My mom only let us take one thing out of each bowl, but we did EVERY one of the 21 floors... we had candy left over from that Halloween when the next year's Halloween came around! It was great!

My father would ring bells early on Christmas morning. He was very good at creating memories for others without really even trying.he used to dress up like santa..

Well I've traveled a lot but I would say my favorite holiday memory has to be when me and my family went to Bangkok and to the crocodile zoo. There was this man with a tiger with no leash no chains just sitting there. For $10 we could take pictures with the tigers if you were man enough. I thought it was a doll until it started liking the trainer. I wanted to take a picture but my parents wouldn't let me at first but soon I was allowed and even my dad managed to take a picture. Btw I was just 7 when this happened.

Wow, a picture with a tiger?! that sounds really cool and really scary at the same time! I am starting to realize that I may have used the wrong word... 'holiday' for the British means 'vacation' for an American, lol and 'holiday' for an American... well I don't know how to say it in British terms... it's like Easter and Halloween and Christmas... you know, the big cultural celebrations? I love your memory though! Thanks for sharing!
