This is a shot of one of the many Honeycrisp Apples on my tree this year here in Minnesota. There are water spots on it as I just finished watering the yard and graden a little while ago. My wife and I have eaten a lot already and will be picking the rest soon. There's maybe 150 or so on the tree right now. These are n apple that the Universdity of Minnesota created many years ago and is the top selling apple in most areas in the USA. Have you ever grown or eaten a Honeycrisp Apple before?

Awwww man, when I saw Red, ripe and juicy I sure thought this was going to be a post about your watermelons. How did they turn out? Were they red, ripe, delicious and sweet? I hope so.
As for Honeycrisp Apple, I don't know if I have eaten them before or not. I don't normally check the names just go by the looks and or price.

Hiya Grandpa Bob..No, never grew an apple tree of any variety before but do want to eventually. As for eating, I don't like raw apples, only cooked and by then, I have no clue as to what kind they are. Hubby and I brought the canning jars in and I'm gonna be buying several boxes of seals/lids for em in preparation to make/can applesauce in Oct. when I get back from WI. hmmmmmmm.....I wonder if it's possible...

When I was up there for a week over a month ago, I didn't have my truck then but I did think about a meeting then if I did have my own. This time I will have my own truck so I'm not pushed for time coming home like I was the last time. I plan on making a few stops on the way home to show my daughter some interesting sights. If she didn't have school all that week, I would of stayed up there longer and took a few days to come home with her. Oct. is too far away now.

I do not know for sure. I usually buy Gala if given a choice. It sounds like a tree I might want to look into though, as the one I have keeps getting hit by late chill weather, maybe Honeycrisp would be more resistant to the late cold snaps.

These are very sweet, firm, juicy, and oh so sweet tasting.
I think you'd love them if you like Gala Apples.

I don't know about caramel on them. As their name implies, they are really sweet already. But it does sound tasty to me still.

no i have never tried one of these apples. Are they easy to grow and are you able to get these trees over here in england ? although we do have some lovely apples growing over here too.I like the old fashioned russet apples , another one called pink lady and you can't beat the good old Granny Smiths for cooking with

No I never ate a Honeycrisp Apple before. In fact I never heard of an apple by that name. Next time I go to the store I have to look and see if they have them.

Hi Bob I've never heard of Honeycrisp Apples but any fresh apple sounds delicious to me right now. I'm going to have to check with my favorite local orchard to see if they have any :)

hi Grandpa Bob that looks so good, IhAveheard of Honeycrisp'but
had never seen one or eaten one. I bet they are good for eating
out of your hand. Also probably great for making apple dishes'with and I am sure you will be doing that. Its been so many years since'I was home on the farm. but I will bet they would grow wonderfully in south Dakota too. I love a juicy rather tart sweet apple and i bet'those would suit me fine.

Mmm..i lLOVE honeycrisp apples..they are one of my three favorite varieties, the others being Jazz and PinkLady apples. I love the texture, smooth and not mealy at all...nice and firm, crisp and juicy. I can't stand an apple with a mushy texture. Congrats on a successful harvest!
