I have a cat that went missing for more than two weeks, thankfully she turned up safe and well. She is over 10 years old and she can not have kittens so i knew deep down that was not why she went, she had one scuff mark on her back leg but other than that she was well but a bit scared.Thankfully our cat is safe at home but where we live lots of other cats have gone missing.

Yes! My daughters cats do every once in a while. Ofcourse they are toms so it is to be expected. Something she doesn't seem to understand. She is female though, maybe that has something to do with it. LOL

There is a ditch in our neighborhood. When it rains hard, it fills up with water and flows to a creek that runs into a river. Our cat has always been on the clumsy side. One rainy day, he went missing. I was at work, so I didn't know about any of this at the time. The family thought he had fallen into the ditch and been swept away. Some time later, he came prancing home with his tail in the air, dry as a bone. We don't know where he had been, but it wasn't in the ditch.

Yes, that has happened to me once. I have a cat too, very nice and home-loving. But, one time, all of a suddenly, she disappeared. Couldn't find her any where for over a week. I had pretty much lost hope of ever finding her. Then a big surprise. Late in the night, one night, I heard a cat meowing at the front door. When I opened the door, there she was. So, surprising. I guess she took a walk too far and couldn't find the way back for a long time. She is home safe and sound now !

When I moved from Van Nuys to West Hills I started keeping my cats in as much as possible. There were coyotes in the area. We had an older cat, Fluff, who loved the outdoors though. One day on my twins' birthday party she got out when my in-laws left the door open. They didn't tell me until much later. There had been some loose German Shepherds running around the neighborhood too. She didn't come home that night, which wasn't all that common. But she didn't come home that morning either. She was 16. We found her body three houses down. I think those dogs got her. If it had been coyotes we wouldn't have found a body.

Aw I am glad to hear that she turned up safe. When I was younger we had cats, and one of them - Wilma - had been outside playing about in the garden. My Mam had been watching her and saw this girl at the back gate. Later when my Mam went to call Wilma in for her tea, she was gone. We suspected that the girl had taken her, but there was nothing we could do. We went out looking for Wilma, calling her and scrambling around her favourite places. We couldn't find her though. Thankfully she turned up, meaowing on the door step around two weeks later, unharmed. I was ecstatically happy! I hope nobody ever has to go through something like that though, it is simply awful isn't it?
