so mylotters is there anyone else out there who is watching this show? i quite like it. i did not think that i would, after being held in the sway of true blood, i thought that this would be a shoddy imitation of something between twilight and true blood. but it is actually pretty good. i am looking forward to the episode tonight. hey i need something vampire related to keep me going till the next season of true blood, right!

Never saw vampire diaries, but I read reviews about the series and it's quite impressing. Hope I can get a DVD copy about it soon.

Actually we are looking for a DVD copy about this series because I think it's worth to watch. According to other reviews it's a cross between Twilight and True Blood.

I had stumbled across this book series when I was trying to find some other vampire books to read. After finishing Twilight I figured there must be other things out there. The book was actually posted online for free when I read the first two of the series. I liked them, not as much as I love the Sookie Stackhouse novels, Twlight, and Vampire Academy. The tv show is okay. I've watched all the episodes but at times I find myself a little bored. I was a little more bloody and violent than I was expecting, but I think I'll keep watching.

I am watching it the show too... I think it is okay. I was really surprised that Stefan told Elena that he was a vampire this early in the show. You'd think that would have been a good cliff-hanger for a few weeks.

Nice to see a fellow Vampire Diaries fan out there! I really love this show. I am surprised that others do not like the show. It hs a more complex and interesting storyline than Twilight (although I was a fan of those books too). I read the Vampire Diaries books too so I am interested to see how things will go with the show as opposed to how things happened in the books. Besides, how can you not like a show with Paul Wesley and Ian Sommerhalder? I think Nina Dobrev is a pretty good actress too. I don't get HBO.. so I haven't seen True Blood although I have read the first five Sookie Stackhouse novels. (My sister bought them so I am reading her books).

Like you, I was looking for a vampire series to watch until the next season of true blood. At first I watched the first episode and thought that it was OK. And then I started to read the books and the series seems kind lame. The only thing that they have kept from the book are the Characters. The story line is a lot different. If Damon is making you insane in the TV series, it would make you go crazier if you read the book. I think I still prefer the concept that Vampires could not go out in the sunlight. Maybe that is why I prefer True Blood. They should have made the books a movie instead of making it a series.

Ah but that's what I like! Since it's a series, you get an hour every week and not just one 2 hour movie. A lot more can be covered and accomplished in that type of time. I was afraid reading the books would spoil it for me, but so far I don't think it will. The similarities are small enough that knowing what happens in the books won't ruin the anticipation for what happens in the show since it's not the same.

Damon is interesting, it's like he's constantly warring with himself to be bad or be badder.... but every once in awhile his old humanity comes back... for a moment. Makes him complicated. And interesting...

it is wearing my down a little, it is like a dawson's creek vampire flick. i still watch it though. hopefully i can make it through episode 4 without the desire to kill myself as i watch damon, the wannabe bad vampire.

i love this show..it has a pretty intriguing story..and there's lot of mystery and suspense in every episode..i also love the salvatore brothers especially damon salvatore..he is so handsome and sexy..there's a lot of unanswered questions during the last episode of season 1 and i can't wait for season 2 anymore..but at the moment i'm just focusing on reading the rest of the books to get more insights on what will happen next..

LOL! I don't watch True Blood and I have never actually been remotely interested in anything on the CW prior to this show. I watch it online usually whenever the new episode is available because my dvr is hooked up with Survivor and CSI and other things on Thursday. I wasn't sure what to expect at all to be honest. I really loved the Twilight books, and because I am loyal, I did watch the movie. I prefer the books to the movie, the characters are more developed and more personable and more.. people I would want to know. Vampire Diaries has some similarities to Twilight but not as much as people might think. I started reading the books after I've been watching the show, and I must say I prefer the show. Elena and Stefan are alive and vibrant in the show, in the books she is the type of person I would wish harm to befall. I do not like shallow conceited people who treat others as if they are pawns in a game. I also like how Margaret was replaced by Jeremy because it put Elena in a role where she is trying to take care of him and get him to pull himself together. You can pick up a preschooler and make her listen, it's not quite the same with a 15 year old brother who is taller than you are. I'm looking forward to each new episode with anticipation lol.
