There are speculations that the election day will be affected by the shortage of power supply on 2010 as warned by Mr. Angelo Reyes. We know this will be the first time to use an automated voting system in the country.
Another is that they are proposing that there should be a new leader or president that will take over in case the election will not proceed.
What about the emergency power that will be granted to Pres. GMA in case there is really a power shortage?
Presidentiables are now getting a lot of issues regarding their illegal activities as to the case of former Pres. Erap accused by Mr. Lacson, who just started making noise this coming election and been rumored an ally of the president.
What do you think will happen on 2010 election? Would it be safe? Who would take over?

I expect the 2010 elections will just be the same as usual, even if it automated if you can bug the system then you can do whatever you want from the main server, which is being held in Comelec main office, but for me there is still a little hope for our country, let's just put it 95% no hope and 5% hope. There is no one that can solve the problem concerning the corruption etc... Why? because we pinoys have the attitude "balimbing" etc... Well the election for 2010 will just be desame nothing as usual.

Sad to hear about that only 5 percent hope for the overhauling of the government. I agree balimbing system always applies especially bribed with power and money.

I can see there would be a lot of stories that will come out as the deadline for submitting their candidacy for president is coming nearer by the day. I think all sorts of stories will just come out to put one another in the limelight as well as putting each other down in the mud. This is expected by everybody but I guess it si just right to know each and every candidates that would run.
As to Sec. Reyes statement, I think this is a bit scary scenario to see if there is indeed a power shortage by election time. This would mean the automation would not be effective and there is a high probability that election would fail. There is a speculation that this is another tactic of the administration to stay in power longer. I really wish they would allow the peaceful transition of power of whoever is chosen by the election. It is still very long before the May 2010 election comes and there are many things that the government can do to ensure that the shortage of power would not happen in that time. Emergency powers is not needed to implement this, I guess congress can do certain measures that could prevent it from happening.

I think they are conditioning the minds of the people that the 2010 election could fail so people won't be surprised to give way to their hidden agendas.
