hi, many people are busy with their work, and often on a duty of business in another city. so we should take a public vehicle. at this time, which vehicle will you choose? a train or an airplane. for train, it is not fast, but you can enjoy the scenery outside the window and chat more with the strangers. while airplane is the fastest to take. but many people afraid of taking it. how about you?

hi buping,
i will take the plane. i will not only save money but the most important element is time. with the current economic situation, air businesses offer promo fares. you just have to be updated to catch latest offers.
i love riding the plane. have a great weekend!

hi, sorry for delaying for your responce. you are an ambitious person i think. even the economic situation needs us to be effective, but when we have time, weekends are ok, we shall take sometime to have relaxing. to take more time with families if possible. travelling with families is a good idea.

hi whyaskq, the risk of travelling in train is actually to be higher than airplane. but in many people's mind, it nearlly hard to survive in airplane. if the price is the same to bring you to your destination, and what's more, the scenery along the way is worthy taking a pictures, will you choose it?

I prefer airplanes over trains. Train service in my country are quite bad and unreliable, it always delay all the time and the railroad is not high tech yet, so it takes too much time to travel by train. Airplane is much reliable since it is fast, comfortable, and you practically can sleep well on your seat. I agree with you that if the scenery is so beautiful and I'm not in a hurry, I might take train to go out of town. I tried the Eurostar when I visit Paris from London, and it is amazingly fast, although the seat is not that comfortable. I wish my country could have train that fast :(

hi, it's a pity that the railway is not that reliable and comfortable. the same situation in my country. and there are so many people in the train, it begins worse in holidays that many people are back home. taking airplane is better than train here. but when beautiful scenery caught your eyes, that's another choice.

Yeah so many people ride train, it's absolutely very crowded in the morning when people go to work and in the afternoon when people go home. The passengers even got to sit in top of the train, which is very dangerous and can harm their lives. Right now, it's Muslim big holiday in my country and many people who wish to go to their hometown by train cannot get a ticket since there's signficant increase in the demand while the supply for train is not enough

I would definitely take the plane...
Long land trips makes me feel seasick/carsick///
plus it takes a lot of my time...
I hate looking outside while travelling... so planes would work better for me

hi, you are on the side of airpalne, that is what few people do. i am sorry to hear that long land trip makes you sick. but take train with group of friends is really a kind of pleasant journey. plane is really a good choice for you. wish your trip enjoyable everytime.

Hi buping, well even if the price for both is the same, I guess I'll still prefer the train, not to view the scenery or anything. But simply because I am too scared to get on a plane. Always paranoid of something might go wrong. And it's more scarier since you have lesser chances of survival just in case some engine on the plane broke. I just find it really really scary.

Hi buping, yah I have to agree with that, traveling by plane could really really save you alot of time, especially if you're in a hurry to get to your destination. I know I have to conquer my fear with planes and stuff. Although it's not gonna be easy for me since I really have great fear on heights.hehe

hi, angryeve. nice to meet you here. you are very right. taking airplane needs courage i think. although to the survey on modes of communication, in air is the safest way, but it's too horible when in case of the wrong of engine. but sometimes if you are hurry to another city, there is no other choice but to take airplane.

For me it would depend on the distance to the destination from where i am and also how quickly i need to get there, which would decide whether i take a plane or a train.

hi, sheetalnr. you are so rational. if you are not in a hurry to the destination, and the sceneries outside are beautiful i think you would take the train, and you are busy and hurry on your work, you would take the plane, right? but no consideration of the reality, which mode of the communication do you like more?

hi balasri. taking airplane is really a good way to save time. you would have more time to work or journey. but for those who are very busy with their work daily, they can have more time to have a rest in train, even sleeping in the train. and train is a good time to reading. you could have a try someday.

Here in Ireland, most business travel would now be by road as rail rights of way here were dismantled and built over with the increasing popularity of the car..Most of Northern Ireland's local rail network was gone by the early 1960's,though distinctive features and buildings are still evident..The Irish Republic retained rail for long distance travel, and I recently heard of a stretch of disused line to Dublin having been reopened and brought back into service there! as there would be a lot of business taking place with England,Scotland, and Wales,Air travel here would be a business mainstay, especially with the budget airlines being so commuter friendly for travel to London..It would not be possible to get to London as cheaply as You could do by budget airline by any other means of transport..It would mean a long coach trip broken by a ferry Journey (probably the next cheapest method) or a train Journey on the other side of the water..(Probably most expensive)..Fortunately,I don't need to travel for business reasons!

I would definitely like to travel by a plane if teh fare for both the modes of communication are the same. Travelling by a plane would definitely take less time and who would a stupid person to travel by train if it costs the same amount. I do have certain instances where I have to travel by train. It is because, when I am travelling to my hometown, there is no airport. So I have to land up at a place which is 200 kms away from my hometown. Then again travelling from the airport to my hometown by train is another issue. So in these cases, I prefer travelling by train so that i can travel directly to my hometown.

So u fall on my side only.
Well, ofcourse one would choose the fastest means if available on the same prices. The only drawback is with the accessibility to all places

hi, vipulchawla. you seem to be on the side of in air. that is few fellows choose to be. maybe you are busy in your work, so you have to choose a faster mode of communication. for me, we have less airport compared with you, so i have to choose a train sometimes, and there are so many people in the train, so i would rather take a plain if on the same price.

This is an easy choice for me. If the train and airplane tickets have the same price, be sure I will choose the airplane. I am not afraid of taking the airplane. On the contrary, I think it is a safe way. I don't have to spend longer time on the way and it saves lots of time. And the environment and service are better in the airplane.
I love China

Hi buping! I don't especially like to fly either! And I don't
travel very often, but when I do travel since the prices of
trains and planes are pretty much the same I do choose to fly!
As much as I hate flying it is the faster route! I just took
a trip about a month and a half ago and I did fly and it really
wasn't all that bad! I hadn't flown in about ten years! And
now I am going to fly again in the next few months! I am not
as afraid now so I know that I will be a little more at ease
on my next trip!

hi opal. you hadn't flown in about ten years? wow. so i think the trip a month and a half ago would be very fun. actually sitting in plane and watching the clouds around you is really fantastic. i hope scientist could have better ways to solve the problem of the airplane. the day of no wrong with the airplane could come earlier.

This is a very common question. An airplane will save us more time.If i go to do some business,i will choose airplane. On the other hand, train seems more safe. Some fear to stay up in the air.So if i have enough time,i will choose a train.

Personally, I prefer the ground. Flying is actually the safest form of transport, or so they say, but if I could take a train everywhere I would. The ground being closer to home than the sky. Know what I mean ?

Hi Buping,
For me, i love to take plane. I always take plane back to my hometown once a year. That is the only communcation tranport to my hometown from the place I am staying currently.
Taking a train is pretty fun too, we can enjoy the nice view and see more things outside the window. Can enjoy a fresh air and maybe some nice food at some pit stops.
I used to take train to my grandma's hometown when I was a kid. The train will stopby several small towns and they also plenty of nice food sell outside the train. Therefore ,taking train is quite fun if we were travelling in group even better, can chit chat along the way up to the destination.

It depends on what I have to do and where I am going. If I want to travel to another place for pleasure, then train is my choice. I can enjoy the trip, watch the scenery, catch up on my reading etc. But if I have to go somewhere for business reasons, then the plane it is. Assuming of course, that all other things are equal.
