Hi, Its been 18 months since I had my baby and am really wanting to lose the preganncy weight and am looking for a diet that will jumpstart the weightloss and then, I can carry on from there. I am a big fan of Atkins but keep hearing a lot of negative stff about it and will be very glad if someone can recommend a decent weightloss diet or website about it. Thanks

Low carb diets work the best for me. I agree with you about Atkins. Try the South Beach Diet. It's similar to Atkins but incorporates carbs throughout the stages of weight loss. I found that I lost weight slower but I think that it is a much healthier way to eat. My biggest frustration is that no one can eat this way permanently. This time around, I'm trying the Jillian Michaels plan which is pretty much back to counting calories and exercising.

It's based on 1200 calories per day and every day there is a link to exercises to do for the day. It amazes me that I am far more sore doing Jillian's exercises than I am even goi ng to the gym. In addition to the calorie count, you take a quiz to determine what kind of oxidizer your are. Once that is determined, she provides 3 meals and 1 snack per day that will maximize weight loss based on your oxidation type. If you prefer not to prepare those meals, she provides the basis for what kinds of foods and what quantities you should eat them in. If you take the test and don't sign up immediately, within a couple of days, you'll get an email offering you one free week to try the diet out. Every day, you get a motivational/educational email from Jillian. Best of luck to you.

Hi Lauren, Yup.. I usually use Atkins to jumpstart the weight loss and then go back to eating smaller, normal meals. I think i'll give SOuth Beach a try this time around. Let me look around the net for more info on it. Thanks for sharing. What is the Jillian Michaels' plan, by the way??

The best way to lose weight and to keep it off is to burn more calories than you take in. I try to eat 6 small meals a day, mostly protein, but I am also a pescetarian so my protein intake is mostly from nuts, like peanut butter or almonds, and fish. I have found that this diet has always worked best for me!

Hi Thanks for sharing.. I like the 6 small meals a day idea and will probably incorporate it in to my low carb eating plan.

Hi there and smile. Hi, i was overweight last year 2006 and 2007, but i made it back being fit and healthy again 2008. However i am losing the motivation again to reach my weight goal because of stress. I always eat a lot, treat myself in the fast food because of stress and that make me gain weight again. Now its my big problem. What i will do is to avoid complex carbohydrates at night. I also bought slimming tea and i will try if it will work haha. I tried it before and it work for me. I just did it for a week though. I will also exercise , go back to the usual schedule for me again. Happy mylotting and smile always!

I think eating a well balanced healthy diet and exercise is the best long term way. I know it said alot but think it is the way to lose weight and keep it off. Cutting down on"bad" fats, eating wholegrain, wholewheat complex carbohydrate, plenty of fruits and vegetables. If you find exercise tough to fit in try walking for 30 mintues a day. If you want to do something at home Cindy Crawford's A New Dimension workout DVD is really food. it was made after having her baby. It is broken down into 3 workouts so you can slowly build up to the longer session. They have it at Amazon and it is not too costly. I had fun doing it but because we lived in a flat it was difficult to fit in before I had to make sure our neighbour downstairs was out. I have not had children yet but it was still effective for me. It is a combination of cardio and weight training. The first one is only about 10 minutes to get you back into the habit and get your body ready. the second is about 15 mins and the thrid about 45 minutes and the warm up and stretching is really good. If you do look it up or get it let me know what you think.
