does acnetrex really helps in getting rid of pimples?

i have many pimples and i just want to ask if acnetrex can really help in making them go away. i have a friend who have tried it and she said that it really is effective. however, when i went to her doctor she gave me a pamphlet which explains how acnetrex works. as i read about it, i saw many negative side effects concerning this medicine. my mom was really worried and afraid that my baby will get those side effects IF i get pregnant since there are side effects like "congenital birth defects". however, the doctor told us that i won't have any problems regarding pregnancy as long as i don't take that medicine when i get pregnant. I still want to try it though. What do you think?
